Short wire, solid light
4 stars only because of the short wire. I get that these are meant to go trough a 2x6 or so, but some people might use them on a stone wall or concrete block and the wire could be longer. I read reviews on them and knew they were going to be short but I had no other options.10 years ago I built a garden wall and put up about 25 'deck lights'. They mounted with 1 screw, and had a little design. Ffwd 10 years.... They no longer exist. In fact I could not find any besides these. The plus on these is the metal is pretty rigid... My old ones occasionally get hit and are all warped.... I don't think the same will happen with these. In the pictures below I show the other lights as well for comparison. These new lights have a full circle you have to look at and use 2 mounting screws opposed to 1. It's hard enough to get 1 straight hole in these rocks, but 2...sometimes the bit walks, but so far so good.I extended the wires by about a foot. I soldered the wires and used shrink tubing. The wires go inside a groove I cut on the stones. Any crimp connections sound have stocked up too much... So if you need these on garden wall, know how to solder, and have a mansory 1/4 bit....these will work

Useful
I liked these for installing under a deck railing to softly illuminate the deck. However, after having them up for more than a year I'm finding that the bulbs burn out faster than the same bulbs in my pathway lights, perhaps because the bulbs hang down in these holders. I'm still giving them 4 stars because I can't be sure that it isn't the transformer causing the problems.

These are exactly as advertised.
Not intended as flood lights. 7 watt bulbs give a dim light but still shows passerby if someone is standing near them. I installed them on the outside of my house at the top where rain & snow is blocked. High to prevent a thief reaching them. Mine lasted 5-6 years & I'm replacing them now. The clips that hold the bulbs eventually corrode. Instead of 3 on the side of the house I cut back to 2. I paid extra & bought low watt piercing connectors for 12-14 gauge wire instead of the connectors that come with it. Reusable, reliable and easy to connect.

Great, with some additional add ons! Here's some tips.
These are not the highest quality deck lights, however, if you don't want to break the bank on light fixtures, here's how I made mine work. The pigtail is only 5-6" as everyone is stating. When you order these, also order some 18/2 wire black lamp cord ( I found a 50' roll on here for $12) and waterproof butt electrical wire connectors. Then you can custom make the length of the pigtail for your application. In different areas of my yard, I needed them to be different lengths. Perfect! Also order a tube of dielectric grease when putting in any lights. Squeeze some into all of your connectors before attaching the wire and you will have a solid, waterproof connection for life!

Good trplacement
I purchased six of these lights to replace old deck lights that are no longer available. All I had to do was remove the old lights and mount the new ones. I already had the wiring so it was easy to attach the new lights. I had no problem with the short leads on the lights. These lights are smaller than the originals that I replaced, but they look nice.

Easy install and matched my existing lights.
We had similar lights on our deck and one was broken and missing the half moon cover. This matched fairly closely and was relatively easy to install myself. The provided wiring is a little short which made it a little difficult for my particular installation on the deck stairs but I was able to make it work. Also make sure you push your connections together really good so it makes a proper connection, my first couple tries I didn't get a solid connection and it took turning the power on and off a couple times and resetting the connection to get it to work.

Tends to fail
Have bought several of these for my deck. Placed 2 under the steps on each side and two under the front railing. Since there is no cover over the bulb, dampness (not rain) gets into the bulb connection and rust forms and causes the bulb to get stuck, making it very difficult to remove. One is no longer useable. Guessing time is limited on the other 4.

Otherwise I'm happy with this product and would definitely buy more if ...
Works as advertised. Only down sides are that the lead lengths were too short for my application so I had to splice in an extension. Also the connection device it comes with doesn't allow 14 gauge wire tapping. Just 16 and 12. Pushing the bulbs in their sockets can be a bit tricky as it bends the support upward so you need to straighten it once the bulb locks in. Beware it notes 7 watt max. Otherwise I'm happy with this product and would definitely buy more if I decide to expand my lighting needs.

Great outdoor steps, railing, and/or fence lighting option
First, let me state that I do not install landscape lighting that does not provide the option for bulb-replacement. Many of the modern LED lights are fully integrated, so you are forced to uninstall, and then re-install a new fixture any time the bulb / light has an issue. In a landscape scenario, this is ridiculous, because in many cases, it involves digging up the supply wire in the ground, or accessing difficult locations (i.e. under a deck or behind a fence).Instead, for myself and my customers, I only purchase lights that allow for bulb replacement. In many cases, it is cheaper to purchase incandescent / halogen-based LED lights, and then just order equivalent LED bulbs to replace the ones that come packaged with the fixtures. This is exactly what I did in this case --- I ordered T5/T10 wedge bulb LEDs.Overall, assuming you install these correctly, secure the junctions with silicone tape, and protect the supply 12/2 or 16/2 landscape wire, this solution / fixture will last forever. It is made of aluminum, and will not rust. If the paint chips or fades, you can simply spray it the color-of-your-choice using rust paint. Because the light uses front-mount T5/T10 wed bulbs, if a light fails / dies, you simply need to unplug it from the fixture and replace it with a new bulb. I tell all my customers to stay away from integrated LED solutions. Yes, some of the integrated-LED solutions look amazing, no doubt. But, when the LED dies (or fails due to extreme whether changes -- expansion / contraction --- like we have in Canada), you will be forced to remove and reinstall a complete fixture, which is a huge pain, and, in some cases, not even possible without removing deck boards, fence panels, or digging up wire under the ground. Likewise, you end up having to call someone like me to do it, ultimately costing you hundreds more than it should. Replaceable bulb fixtures are ALWAYS your best option. These units do not disappoint, and will last years and years.

Warm glow
The amber light that they give off is perfect for our yard. I'm not a fan of white light in the yard and these make it so warm and inviting.

Tiny light
Pictures are misleading. It is tiny. Maybe someone could use it on a fence post or something, but it doesnโt even cover normal electrical box.

Great
Love that you can replace bulbs if needed. The last ones we bought were a sealed unit. So definitely recommend these for lengevity, Good value for money

Good product, but connector is tricky
Great looking product, but connector to pinch onto the low voltage wire is hard to squeeze.
