Excellent For The Money!!
These double curtain rods were well worth every cent I gave for them. They are sturdy and super easy to install. The drapes and sheers I brought to hang on them look great. The only con is the ends of the rods are rough and when putting the curtains on the rod you must be careful not to snag or tear the fabric. I suppose you could put a little tape on the ends to prevent this if it is a great concern or just be extra careful as I was. I would definitely buy these again.

Perfect order, thanks to packaging
I read other reviews before ordering and some said their little curtain rods had arrived bent. Well I rate BIC Superstore ten stars for packaging... see my vendor review about that. The rods arrived in perfect condition and the only tiny flaw was that the pointed ends had burrs that caught my sheers a little, but I just buffed them slightly with a diamond nail file and they slid right into place. These mounted onto a thick wooden wall, so they will last a long time barring accident. I can't bless them enough. Thanks BIC, for fantastic price, decent ship time and outstanding packaging.

Installment assistance here, but rod very flimsy
Some people have commented that the rods they received were bent. I purchased my set from Gatzies, and the rods arrived perfectly straight. The two rods come from the manufacturer joined by plastic so that they reinforce each other and packed in an outside plastic bag with the hardware. This bag is then carefully secured into place by the seller within a protective cardboard carton. I strongly suspect that the receivers of bent separated rods are getting used or returned goods. In addition, I have read complaints that no hardware was included. My set came with everything one would expect - two brackets, 4 screws and a center support. I cannot comment on other sellers, but I would highly recommend purchasing from Gatzies. I would reject any set that arrived without the hardware, because it is missing parts that are included in the product description.Mostly, I want to respond to those who complain about the absence of instructions. None are needed because installation is very straightforward. The brackets are hung so that the large hole with two joined openings is on the top. To hang the rod, set the hole in the end over the top of the bracket prong and let it slip into place. Each bracket holds an end of both rods, each rod end over one of the two prongs. The center support is used so that each rod rests on one of the two dips. I noticed some complaints that the rod was sagging in the middle - that should not be possible if the center support is properly placed. To hang the bracket on the wooden window frame, mark where you want the top of the rod to be, and then make another mark 1/4" above the top height of the rod at the point where you want to put the center of the bracket. Drill a hole the length of the screw shaft using a small bit into the upper mark. I generally use a 1/16" bit for a screw of the size included with the rod. Do the same on the other side of the window frame. Partially attach the bracket to the wall using the larger (double) hole. Press the bracket against the frame and mark the lower hole. If possible, use a small level to be sure the bracket is properly aligned when marking the second hole. Remove the bracket or brush it aside and drill the smaller hole. Then replace the bracket and screw it in snugly using both screws. Do not overtighten. (It is necessary to drill pilot holes because otherwise the wood might crack. Repeat on the other side.)To hang the center support, mark a position on the frame in the center about 1/4" below the top of the rod. Drill a hole using, I would suggest, a 1/8" bit and twist the support into the hole with the cavities aligned so that the rods will sit in them. Then extend the rods as necessary and place over the brackets. If the window is relatively narrow, the center support may be unnecessary, but the more the rods are extended, the weaker they become and the more they need that support. To place the brackets above and/or outside the window frame, you must use the appropriate means of attaching the screw to the wall, i.e., different methods are necessary if the walls are not made of wood. If they are made of drywall, you will need some type of wall anchor. Because these rods are not designed for heavy weight curtains, no fancy wall anchor should be necessary. You can either buy the anchors to fit the screws that come with the rods, or substitute a wall anchor set for the screws. Just be sure that the heads of the screws are larger than the small holes and the shaft is small enough to fit into the small hole. Either way, you will need to drill the right size hole, hammer in the anchor, and then put the screws into the anchor. The same goes for the center support. Your local hardware store should be able to supply these items and give instructions for using them. It's not at all hard: just takes a drill and bits, a hammer, a screwdriver and patience!Note - I purchased this rod set to replace old somewhat rusted rods. I was shocked to see how flimsy these new "heavy duty" rods are compared to the old ones. Wound up using the new hardware with the old rods!If anyone knows of a better way to hang the rods, I hope they will comment. I've put up a lot of drapery in my day, but from the comments I see there are those who need a bit of help.

Nice basic rod!
I feel that if you are buying this, you are looking for a very basic, but decent quality curtain rod for the price. It is exactly that!I am not sure what these poor review talk about with not understanding set up...It is pretty darn basic (perhaps they did not have a power drill??) you just drill the screws into the wall over the plates and voila! pop on your rods. Very simple. It got the job done! They are secure! Thats all I needed! So I am giving it a full 5 stars!

worth the buy
I read all the reviews before buying this item. It is true, it doesn't come with instructions. However, I have had many of these types of rods and know how to install. It is really easy...hint, the holes in the rod at the ends....they hook over the metal piece that sticks up on the plate that screws into the wall. The rods were not bent at all like others experienced. Another hint, you have to take a flat screwdriver and lift up the ends on the side that slides. I think it is "pinched" a little tight to keep it from extending while in the package or shipping. Otherwise, the product works great. I actually only needed one rod and this was the only item that gave me the 75 inches I needed for my window. I would give it 5 stars if it came with instructions.

Not "Heavy Duty"
Not Heavy Duty as specified. I bought these to hang a set of very light weight cotton/poly curtains 50" wide by 63" long. The rods twisted and sagged in the middle and required the use of a support bracket. No way should this have happened to a heavy duty rod.I've purchased heavy duty rods in the past to hang 2 sets of velour curtains (backed with rubber and very heavy) for windows and sliding glass doors that were 120" wide and 84" long and that was the only time I had to use a support bracket.Very disappointed in the quality. Cheap metal that is so sharp at the ends that I had to tape them to keep them from ripping my curtains as I slid the rod through the rod pocket. Most quality rods have a plastic protector installed on the rod ends or are finished (sanded) to make them less sharp.I could have purchased the same quality at any Walmart, Kmart or Dollar store for less than one-third this price! Description is definitely misleading.

Found what I was looking for!!
I LOVE this rod set! I was looking for something cheap/inexpensive/temporary to hang curtains in my apartment. I love that it can extend to 84 inches- any other rod this size would've cost $20+. It is low-profile (hidden by the curtains) so it doesn't appear "cheap". I am only using one of the rods, but I like that it came with 2, so I can add a valance in the future. The only downfall to this product is that yes, it does feel flimsy, but for $7 I'm not complaining- my curtains were lightweight & I'm not worried about the rod falling. Also, there were no instructions included! A quick phone call to my seamstress mother solved that & I'm sure Levelor customer service would've been able to give me instructions as well. Once I knew what I was doing, it took under 10 minutes to install.
