This is a great product. No smell, easy to apply and a smooth Matt texture to the finished product, and it goes a long way. I used it on the top and shelves of a book case I painted with a chalk paint, and while it’s only been a short while since I finished it, there doesn’t appear to be any marks on the book case which gets a lot of use with keys, dog leads, etc being thrown onto it. I’m very happy with it.

Used this to provide protection to a water based light grey/blue paint used on kitchen doors (not cabinets). The existing paint was vulnerable to wiping even with tap water - which removed coats to bare wood. I chose this product largely that it was clear and afforded a good level of protection to chalk paints. A test piece performed well and was durable to mild water based cleaning products and dropped blobs of reisdue appeared as a clear flexible plastic material. There was no colour change to the original paint and no reaction caused by the product. Time will tell on full durability but so far very pleased.

Does exactly what I hoped. I can’t afford a new kitchen so painted the doors and drawer in dark navy. Two coats of this followed and when I first put it on I worried as it was a thin white coat, no need to worry , dried clear and looks amazing. Easy to use and odorless

I share many of the comments and observations from others who have tried this product. Its no better than watered down PVA - often used to seal plaster! I purchased to laquer a over a dark acrylic painted mdf cabinet top, the surface of which took days to sand down to a beautuiful smooth finish using 400 grit. When i applied this stuff, it was nothing like what was described. Other than spraying I have no idea how anyone manges to achieve the finish claimed and described, using a brush or roller applicator. I used various brushes and roller types on a good sized test piece. What a disaster. I'm not sure what was worse, the streaky lines from a brush or the mottled effect from the various rollers I tried. Each attempt dried leaving the application pattern on the surface, not the desired smooth clear plain laquer i was expecting. Based on this experience I would not recommend this product. Others will have a different view - its a shame they havent explained how they managed the perfect finish in their positive reviews.

Great product

this is a good quality Acrylic varnish but should not be described as a Lacquer I have tried layers of this to create a deep shine using metalics and metal flake and it lacks the finish of a spirit based lacquer a good product but not what it says on the tin!

It does the job of protecting the wood and sealing the surface. Easy to use, you can feel the difference of the surface applied to much nicer. The lacquer is the perfect consistency and covers well not too thick.

Würde den Lack nicht nochmal kaufen, entstehen Blasen wenn er trocknet und man kann von vorne anfangen

Not resistant to use at all. Can be scratched with nail. Not suitable for flooring.

Using a roller, I applied a single coating of Hemway Clear Satin Lacquer to the wooden floor of my room. Without a doubt, it's a vast improvement over the floor, pre-coating. Before I applied the lacquer coating, the floor had a rather poor finish (the appearance and the feel of the floor when walking barefoot seemed pretty dismal) and I was concerned about the wood decaying or getting spoiled by the growth of molds as a result of moisture. After the coating, the floor has a nice glossy finish and feels quite pleasant when walking barefoot on it. I also don't have to worry about decay and mold growth due to the protective layer. What's more, it's pretty economical-it took me approximately little over a half of the lacquer available in a single can to cover the entire floor which has an area between 35-40 square meters.
