A True Game Changer (And I'm Not Just Punning!)
As a long-time console and PC gamer, I've seen my fair share of storage solutions, but the WD_BLACK P10 5TB Game Drive is in a league of its own. It’s a tiny titan of storage, small enough to fit in my pocket yet holding enough games to make my digital library feel infinite. Setup was a breeze—truly plug-and-play on my PC and PS5, and it immediately recognized the extra space. Now I can download games without that familiar, sinking dread of having to delete something to make room. It's like having a digital vault for all my gaming obsessions. The read and write speeds are impressive, so I'm not stuck staring at loading screens for ages. It's fast, reliable, and frankly, a lifesaver for anyone who loves to hop between a dozen different titles. The only minor con is that its sleek, minimalist design makes it so discreet I sometimes have a hard time spotting it on my desk. It’s almost too portable—I'm a little worried I'll misplace it someday. But other than that, this drive really knocked it out of the park. It's definitely a solid storage solution. I'm over the moon with this purchase!

Really nice hard drive.
I wanted this external hard drive to replace my previous one.Its alittle bit more price wise, but im happy to pay the extra for it.The other brand of hard drive kept getting faulty, that I was using,so I decided to try this one .I found it easy to install,I wanted it to store my Xbox One games for use on Series X.So far im very happy with this hard drive and it runs great,is very quiet too.Looks really good connected to my Series X aswell. In future i think I will stick to this brand of external hard drives.

A very good cost effective large capacity external mechanical hard drive good for most gamers.
It has a decent capacity of about 7.5Tb and not the full 8Tb advertised(as a lot of space is used up for the file system on mechanical hard drives in general so you very rarely get the full capacity advertised) for the price and works very well with the PS4 PRO and on the whole has decent access speeds tho on occasion it does seem to be a bit slow. This is probably to do with the 10 second spin up time which does make loading a little slow at times during gaming. Tho game loading is fairly quick when you load up a game from the Home Screen. The drive does run quite warm during busy times when gaming so I would recommend that the drive is placed in a well ventilated place so as to allow heat to naturally dissipate and definitely ensure that the fan at the back of the drive has a clear path to expel the build up of heat. The drive is extremely easy to set up and is formatted for the PS4 very quickly. It is definitely worth the money tho it will run considerably slower than a solid state hard Drives as will all mechanical drives so there is a trade off between storage space and read, write, access times. Also if you choose a solid state hard drive you are currently limited to 2Tb and will very likely pay £200 or more and the faster the drive the more expensive they are generally. Also to really get the benefit of the speed of solid state hard drives you would need to replace the PS4 internal drive with a solid state hard Drive and then you have the problem of downloading the PS4 operating system on to the drive prior to or during replacement which can be very problematic. Hence why mechanical External hard Drives are very popular with the PS4 as generally the storage space of the internal hard drive is much smaller than required for most gamers, so external hard Drives are a almost a must have item as it allows you to have comprehensive access to many years of games overtime and not be forced into deleting and installing games which is very time consuming. Also the hard drives is not fully silent and you can hear it running faintly in the background especially during times when you are not gaming which is probably the downside of having a hard drive which spins faster than standard mechanical hard drives tho I think it is a trade off which is worth it in my opinion.

Good storage for value
5TB to save all your games is definitely great! The problem is that the games do not load very quickly. However, this is a HDD, so it makes sense that it would take longer to save. The HDD is very small and portable, especially for how much storage is on it, and I've had it fall before, with no damage resulting, so it's very durable. It's plug in and go, there's no need for any kind of installation of additional software, but do keep in mind that just like any other HDD, you want to make sure you keep up with maintenance on it, such as ensuring that partitions aren't interfering with it's speed. Overall, great HDD for casual storage, but despite the advertising, games run quite slow for me (Fallout 4, Sea of Thieves, Metro Last Light, Persona 5, and Skyrim are a few examples of games I'd play frequently. I don't play any of these with mods.) but overall, for the price and reliability, definitely worth purchasing. However, moving files from the HDD to an SSD? God, it goes at 30mb/s max, and that's from the beginning. It's a bit annoying, but alas, I make do. I've had this item for a while, and I won't be replacing it anytime soon.

A little loud, but performing well and looks awesome
I got this drive for storing and editing photos, as well as storing video files. Its working great and is so much faster than my old 5200rpm drive. This apparently houses an data center level HDD, so it should hopefully be more durable than the desktop level HDDs that come in cheaper external drives. It looks really cool with the rugged enclosure design and features two USB sockets that would be very handy to have on the desk. Unfortunately its a little too loud for me to have on my desk. There is a fan inside to provide active cooling, which is great to have for durability of the drive, but it is quite loud. As well as the fan, the drive itself is fairly noisy being 7200rpm. I have put the drive inside a cupboard, with a mini USB room fan plugged into the USB socket on the enclosure. Very handy to have them! The drive runs a little hot at around 56c according to crystal disc info. I searched it and apparently its normal for this type of drive to run a little hot, so I don't think its an issue with the enclosure or the drive. Setup was easy and just a case of plugging in the USB and power cable and turning it on. Windows immediately detected the drive and it was ready to go. Overall I am very pleased with this external HDD and would definitely recommend if you're looking for a fast external drive.

Should of got one years ago
My only draw back is when I turn on my comp it wont boot and I've even turned off in the bios booting from usb as an option. I probably need to research more to correct his but Im lazy and I dont care. If I had of know I could stick one of these bad boys into my motherboards usb 3 port and it preform the way it does I would of bought one years ago. I got it about a week ago after looking ad ssd drives (already have an ssd as main HD) and mulling over costs vs a larger internal sata drive and happened on discussions about if usb 3 drives can handle game storage. I was personally caught up in the misunderstanding that you cant play games from an external hard drive, not to mention thinking you could would have people in the know laugh at you. I've since installed two terrabytes of games from my steam account and epic account onto this drive. The only difference I have noted between my main SSD drive and this is that steam installs take a little while longer allocating space, but once done game downloads installed at 5mb a sec, which to be fair to this drive was the max my internet could download at, so not sure if it goes faster.. Either way, Ive spent weeks installing all the massive data games out of my accounts onto this drive and not had a single problem running any of them. No longer do I need to decide what I should delete so I can try something new. Now, I can have it all! Erm, awesome drive. I regret the last few years making decisions about what I should delete so I can install something new. If only I had of know that a few quid could of given me so much freedom!!

Perfect
The 4TB hard drive is a powerful and versatile storage device that provides ample space for storing large amounts of data. With its massive storage capacity, it is an excellent option for individuals and businesses that require a significant amount of storage for their data. One of the most significant advantages of the 4TB hard drive is its large storage capacity, which can store up to 4 terabytes of data. This makes it an excellent option for individuals and businesses that need to store large amounts of data, such as videos, music, and photos. It can also be used for backing up important files, which is crucial for protecting against data loss. In addition to its large storage capacity, the 4TB hard drive is also fast and reliable. It provides high-speed data transfer rates, which means that large files can be transferred quickly and efficiently. It is also designed to be durable and reliable, which means that it can withstand the wear and tear of regular use and will continue to perform reliably over time. One potential downside of the 4TB hard drive is its relatively high price compared to smaller-capacity drives. However, the cost per terabyte is typically lower for larger-capacity drives, which means that the 4TB hard drive may be a more cost-effective option in the long run for those who require a significant amount of storage. Overall, the 4TB hard drive is a powerful and reliable storage device that provides ample space for storing large amounts of data. Its large storage capacity, high-speed data transfer rates, and durability make it an excellent option for individuals and businesses that need to store and access large amounts of data
