Could a 80 year old lady be able to use this?

The smaller the potato, the easier it is. I have been buying the large bags with tiny russet potatoes. Works great. You probably won't be able to use up all the potatoes but maybe you can give some away. They are very inexpensive :)

Is this really effortless to make fries? Is there a video of it being used?

I'm a 61 year old women with arthritis and I use it regularly. If your potato is to big just cut it down and the potato goes right through. I put a plate in front of mine to catch the fries. It doesn't move on you so it does make it effortless. It's very easy to clean. You just need to wash it right away so nothing gets hard on it. The blades are very sharp. I looked at a lot of cutters read a lot of reviews and chose this one. It was the right choice for me.

Is it work for cucumber?

Hello. Yes, of course, it work well with cucumber. Here is the attached video.
