Wonderful book!
It was an insightful and moving journey into the lives and traditions of "god's other children," some of the great ways of Indian spirituality. Too much of the writings about "other religions" is based on textual analysis and the reading of books rather than the actual experience of those "other" traditions and practices. Here we are taken into the lives of Indian Muslims, Hindus, and some Indian Christians. I loved it...

Excellent scholastic, yet personal encounter!
Outstanding personal account of a lived relationship interplay between Hindu, Muslim, Christian, and Buddhism. Wonderful perspective on comparative religion for those seeking a real-life application of ecumenism.

excellent read!
Good summary of what world religions have to contribute. Helps reader get away from "we are right and they are wrong." He has lived it and not just studied the subject.

Transformative India
I like reading personal stories about Westerner's trans-formative experiences in India, and was tickled to find that the traveler was a Catholic student of theology. Transformations and "experiences of a lifetime" adventures are not unusual, as India is a different planet--(that may be changing now--I was there in the 1970's for a year) --and one immersed in Aliveness. Seeing disciplined yogis and ascetics with glistening and penetrating eyes, common people practicing their spirituality and devotion to God in daily ritual, witnessing examples of kindness and generosity, even under adversity, being exposed to the wisdom and intelligence of Eastern religions by their pundits, being a part of a more natural reality, and even personal miracles unfolding have been part and parcel of many a seeker in India. These things do tend to open the heart and mind to the Mystery and Unity governing us all, and the author does a fine job of describing his own personal experience there.
