Good replacement for R/C micro servos
I'll start with the back story. I have a 1/16 E-Revo R/C car. The stock servo has plastic gears. I found this out the hard way, when after a crash, I got a lot of clicking instead of wheels turning when trying to steer. I opened up the servo, found a tooth broken off of one of the gears. I managed to temporarily fix the problem by rotating the broken gear 180 degrees, but it didn't long to break another tooth. I knew at that point I'd prefer a servo with metal gears, so I ordered this one. In the mean time, I ordered a replacement gear kit for the stock servo, only because I knew I'd get that faster than this new servo. When the gear kit came in, I swapped the broken gear, took the car out, and went through the same progression of events (broke a tooth, rotated the gear 180 degrees, broke another one) within 10 minutes. I was happy when this servo finally arrived......and even happier to find that it's a direct replacement to the stock 2080 servo. No modifications needed*. Take the horn off the stock servo, throw it on this one, screw this in place of the old servo, plug it into the channel 1 slot on the receiver.*The only problem is, the servo is reversed from stock on the model I have. This means you can do one of two things: Place the servo on the opposite side of the car (if it has a slot for it on each side, like the Revo does), or place it exactly where the stock motor was and reverse channel 1 on the transmitter (which is pretty easy to do; instructions are provided in the instruction manual to do so. So easy, a paleolithic bipedal mammal dwelling in a naturally-formed cavern could do it). This servo performs exactly the same as its predecessor, as expected. Travel time is identical and torque is improved, so handling and response remain unaffected. Most importantly, the metal gears seem to be serving their purpose. Only time will tell how well this servo stands up to abuse, but it's already survived more than the plastic gears in my stock servo. A great addition to any 1/16 scale R/C car.

A not-quite-drop-in drop-in upgrade.
After the fifth or sixth stock servo called it quits (fried electronics and grenaded gears) on my 1/16 Big-Block E-Revo, I decided it was time for an upgrade. And what an upgrade it was! For just a few bucks more than the stock Traxxas servo, you get bulletproof metal gears, more torque, AND faster traverse speed. It was not quite a drop-in install, and required VERY mild filing of the chassis and some "massaging" of the servo horn to reach properly (as it mounts slightly differently to the stock one), but that mild bit of work (which can be done with only a pair of scissors and a basic body reamer) is MORE than worth it!Pros: More torque, steel gears, faster traverse speed, better sensitivity, incredible resilience to high speed impacts and multiple rollovers, waterproofCons: Reversed steering direction (solved by programming the transmitter, or installing on the opposite side), required a fair bit of finagling to get straight, mild trimming of the provided servo horn required to provide full turning in both directions (minor trial and error solved this in less than 20 minutes)Verdict: An awesome servo, definitely worth the added work of install over the stock servo, and will more than satisfy.

Perfect steering upgrade for the 1/16 traxxas
Perfect steering upgrade for the 1/16 traxxas. In a slash now but would work perfect for revo or rally. Faster and stronger than stock plastic gear servo. Son hasn't managed to strip this out so it is very strong.
