Hornby R1236 Mixed Freight Train Set - Analogue

Ideal for anyone wanting to get into railway modelling like myself returning after 30 years. I found this to be the most cost- effective way to return to model railways and the DCC control. when all items are priced separately it is good value for money. Both locomotives are pre code to 03 although reading the enclosed instruction I was able to re-program one very easily. Everything unpacked up and running within 15 minutes.Downside some of the wagon are a bit on the light side a few more wagons would not come a miss My first Freight master train set contained seven wagons I think although that was 50 Years or so ,other than that no issuesThe Set contains two DCC Locos with Wagons, DCC Controller, track and track mat with clear instructions for use.This Set is ideal introductory starter set to the world of trains and DCC capabilitiesAn excellent present for anyone starting or intermediary on that path.Also enclosed in the set is a membership form from Hornby You receive a free locomotive if you become a member Memberships is about £28 but worth looking into I received my FREE model (good quality )with magazines arriving soon.

This set is ideal for anyone wanting to get into railway modelling. The Set contains two DCC Locos with Wagons, DCC Controller, track and instructions for use. This Set is ideal, so as to fully enable the advantages of DCC over analogue, two or more Locos are needed and this item provides the Beginner on that path. The Locos and Wagons are of good quality. There is enough track and one turn-out track piece to make a loop and sidings. Both Locos can be operated on the same track at the same time. The DCC Controller is very good and enables individual control of two or more Locos. Turning-points can also be controlled with the DCC Controller via use of separately purchased point-motors.

Great value starter set which introduces the operator to the world of DCC perfectly.Easy to setup and simple instructions to setup train addresses. I used this as a starting point as the controller alone would be around £100.00 so meant effectively got two trains, the wagons and track for £90.Have now massively moved on from this set but still using the controller, train and wagons plus the track is now buried into the layout thanks to the good quality including the excellent points

It is great value for money for what you get. Like me you’ll need to get your head around the dcc operations or you may think it’s broken. Took a while and I’m still learning about dcc all the time. I’m not sure if it’s possible however I wish the dcc instructions were a more comfortable read.

Great starter kit for the young train enthusiast. Being able to control 2 trains at different speeds is great fun for kids (and adults). The kit is a bit pricey but it is bar far the cheapest way to get started with a digital setup.

This is a brilliant DCC digital train set with DCC digital controller, two DCC train engines and fright goods rolling stock. Arrived ahead of schedule in perfect condition, very well packaged. 10/10

One locomotive worked erratically and the other not at all!Thought I was buying from Amazon but was supplied by retailer who I would not have bought from had I known.

Very poor quality.Conn rods on engine broken after approx 1 hr of use.Points not working.
