I would say it tasted good. Not sure what it was but every so often I crunched down on something like a grain of sand. I thought it might have been an eggshell at first. Tried again very carefully and still had them. I used the product as baking flour in a pineapple upside down cake and it turned out good. So it’s good for more than pancakes. If crunch doesn’t bother you it’s good.

A third of our family is gluten-free and all of us are allergic to dairy. This is the best mix I've found that meets all of our allergy needs. I've made the whole mix twice and the pancakes were gone the same day (no leftovers). I substituted rice milk for regular milk and applesauce instead of egg. Then added banana and blueberry.

The mix made nice dense waffles that held together great and had the golden color of a good old fashioned waffle. We ate ours with lots of toppings (strawberries and maple syrup) but eaten plain, thry taste like oatmeal. Most mixes have a vaguely beany, acrid aftertaste and this one didn't. It didn't overpower the toppings. A good vehicle for the toppings, in fact! But eaten plain, you'd swear you were eating a solid hunk of oatmeal.

I used to love this product, but for several months now, the bags have contained some ingredient that is rancid. The dates are all good, some say still good for two years. I used to subscribe to six bags a month, and have tapered down, until now I have to cancel it because there hasn't been a change. Something in the mix smells and tastes "off" and if this changes, please let me know so I can order it again.

After years of eating gluten free we finally purchased a waffle iron & began searching for good gf waffle recipes. While we've found some OK recipes, it's often convenient to have a mix, and this one is so easy and yummy that we often use it as a go to instead of one of the recipes! I highly recommend it!
