Great unit. Super easy to set up. 250 number blocking is the best feature by far.
Panasonic KXTGF345B Dect 5-Handset Landline Telephone(^^^ Amazon Key Words for searching ^^^)I've used Panasonic phones for many, many years, and have been happy with all of them. When it came time to replace the battery packs for the second time in 12 years, we did some searching, and decided on this model instead of trying to find and buy the replacement battery packs. (plus, two handsets out of four had finally stopped working due to mushy buttons.) the price of the battery packs + 2 new handsets was well over the price of the new phone system so we chose the new system. This set is super easy to use, very comfortable, and has great new options. The >>> absolute best option <<< that Panasonic has added to this and other newer generation sets is the Block Call/Number option, allowing you to block up to 250 unwanted numbers - solicitors, robo-calls, etc... As too many people have figured out how to get around the Do Not Call List, or, simply do not care, Panasonic took care of this option for us. Any unwanted numbers can be blocked using a one touch key from any/all of the handsets or the base. You can block as an unwanted call comes in, before or answering the call, or, you can pre program numbers to be blocked.(If you accidentally block a number, you can easily unblock, too.)- Comes with base unit with a handset (needs outlet and phone jack) plus 4 extra handsets that require only a base with an outlet and all are already preset to the base. (5) handsets total. This works very well for disabled people like me who want or need to have a handset on each floor of the house, or in multiple rooms.- This *does* work with cable modem (this is what I have) and according to other reviewers, it also works with other Digital / Magic Jack and VOIP- *** Note*** this is a single line set, not for two or more lines.- Expandable to a 6th handset if needed. (Sold separately)- You can store 100 names/numbers in your phone book, and assign speed dial if you'd like. Enter numbers once, and all handsets (including base) stores all of the numbers.- Mute, noise reduction, Hold, Caller ID, Call Waiting ID, and Talking Caller ID available - butmust be subscribed to Caller ID through your phone provider.- Ten rechargeable Nickel-Metal Hydride (Ni MH) batteries come with the phones, 2 aaa batteries per handset. **Do not use other aaa types of batteries.**- 2 clips included to allow handsets to clip to belts or pockets, etc.- Base and any handset can be used to retrieve messages.- Different handset ring tone options are available.- Each handset can be set to ring to different tones, or, switched to silent if you don't want or need all handsets to ring at the same time.- Call answering rings can be set from 2 - 7 rings before answering machine picks up- Up to 17 minutes of voicemail /messaging recording. If you also have voice mail via your phone provider, just set the number of rings on the system and your home voice mail system to pick up voice messages.- One touch call back (Handy to call back a missed call, or to add a solicitor/unwanted call so you can block the number.)- Intercom to / from all handsets and base.- baby monitor option - can be turned off.- Keep a charged handset in the base unit, and if the power goes out, you can get up to 7 hours of talk time. (I also use the base plugged into a UPS to extend talk time).- Unit does have and support headset jacks (sold separately)- Optional, sold separately, a small key chain type dongle allows you to 'ping' via any handset or base to whatever you've attached the dongle to (example, keys) and use to locate the misplaced item.- misplaced a handset? Ping it from the base and it will beep to help you locate it.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~NOTE:If you are looking for a system that synchs to your cell phone, sharing contacts, and sending a call from your smart phone to a handset in the house or the other way around - while talking on a handset you can send the call to your smartphone without losing the call, try a model such as this one - depending on how many handsets you want in your house.Amazon Search TermsPanasonic KX-TGE275S Link2Cell Bluetooth Enabled Phone with Answering Machine & 5 Cordless Handsets~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~>**<~~~

Excellent product and easy to use - note that some reviews seem to be for other models.
This review is for the Panasonic KX-TGF345B system. The reviews that I read when I was selecting the system seem to be jumbled with reviews of other models and manufacturers, so be careful. Some reviews indicated that the system comes without batteries - this is not true, it had all the batteries needed, although you must install them in the phones. They are AAA NiMh batteries, so they would be easy to replace if any fail, as opposed to the specialized batteries that many cordless phones use. Battery life has proved excellent. Some other reviews mentioned annoying delays when trying to enter settings or update the phone book, I have not experienced that at all, even with the handsets farthest from the base units. Some reviews mentioned an intimidating number of codes to enter, again I did not find that to be the case at all, it is all menus with a nice clear display and easy to follow. I think that these reviewers must have been talking about another model. There are no codes to mess with and the phones were paired with the base unit right out of the box. My wife does not like to learn new technology, and she had these figured out in about 2 minutes, so don't believe the reviews that say they are difficult to operate.Sound quality has proved very good, even with the speakerphone. We have a long, two-level house and the reception is perfect in every room and even in the garage and out on the deck. After a few rings they announce the incoming caller, so you can screen calls without having to even look at the phone. That is cool. The only negative I can find is that the very slim design of the handsets makes it kind of hard to pin them between your shoulder and ear if you are using both hands for something, like typing reviews on Amazon, but of course that is what the speakerphone feature or a headset (not included but easy to get) is for. And the slim design makes them easy to slide into a pants pocket if you are carrying stuff (also two belt clips are included). These do not do Bluetooth, but I have enough Bluetooth gadgets already, and it doesn't seem necessary for a landline phone and Bluetooth probably drains the phone battery more anyway. They have a clever feature where the handset that is resting in the base unit can power it for a while if your power goes out. You have to use another handset and the range is much reduced, but it works. In our case our phone comes out of an Xfinity box that itself won't work without power, so that feature is not important to me, but if you still have a POTS phone line in your house, that could be a lifesaver.Overall, these are the best cordless landline phones I have ever owned and I highly recommend them.

Temporarily Unblock CallerID in Contact List and still match callers against the contact list.
Problem with callid on incoming calls not resolved by Panasonic Support... BUT I found the answer! I set my CallerID option to never send the CallerID. AT&T has an option to override the default on outgoing calls by entering *82 prior to dialing the call,. I input my call list with a *82 preceding the the telephone number for friends and family... When a call is received, the incoming telephone number is compared to Contact list first. If the number is found, it displays whatever was input keyed in as the caller (name or whatever), if it does not match the contact list it will display whatever is sent by the remote carrier. So, even if a caller does not broadcast their callerid, if it's in your contact list it will display what was found in the contact list. After inputting my contact list with the preceding *82 on my new Panasonic Telephone, I was getting calls from numbers in the contact list but with things like Cellular Caller, etc. even though they were in my contact list. However, the phone number did not show the *82 which apparently causing the match not to work. The first 2 support calls I made to Panasonic they basically said it was a problem with the carrier. The third call to Panasonic Support the guy said put In a second entry in the contact list without the *82... When I asked what the limit in the contact file was he said 4000, I knew it was only 100 but thought I would give it a try. I only had 30 left out of the 100. I then decided to try and put a Pause in after the *82... The pause is programmed by hitting arrow up key. So in conclusion, when an incoming call is received, the Panasonic phone will try to match everything AFTER the pause... It works! Now I just have to go through and edit my Contact list and add the pause after the *82^

Excellent sound quality
Have had comments from people I call about the excellent sound quality. I can also hear incoming calls very well. However, when I receive an incoming local call, and want to redial, I can't do it because the incoming call has a '1' as the starting number, and a message comes on saying 'This is a local call. Do not dial '1' before the number', and then the call doesn't go through. Perhaps there is a fix in the manual, but I haven't looked it up yet.

Good so far - I like that it uses NiMH AAA batteries (supplied) for easy replacement in the future - that being said this is replacing an older panasonic handset kit and those batteries lasted at least a few years without any issues. Call block and audible call display are handy features. If you program the names into the built in phone book it will passably pronounce those names instead of reading just the call number.

A phone I love and telemarketers hate!
Excellent product at an excellent price through Amazon. The call block feature is an amazing feature that eliminates all those annoying telemarketers selling duct cleaning! The only drawback is the tedious process for keying in names/numbers into the phone directory. Very pleased with this purchase.

Decent phone set to have for the price. I like to have a phone in different areas of our house as we have a three level split. It was nice to not have to buy extra phones separately.
