MantaRing - Cable Key Ring with Screw Lock - Strong, Flexible, Waterproof. One Ring for Keys and So Much More (Green)

I've used several other key rings before, but I like how simple and easy to use this one is. However, I have the same issue that a few other people do... it comes undone after a while. I hang my keys from my belt loop with a suspension clip, so even if they fall off, they drop into my back pocket... but I'd still like some security.I found some low strength thread locker at a local auto parts store - for the permatex brand, it's the purple one, and you can even order it here on Amazon. It's worth having, as it has many other potential uses as well. I should reiterate, it's important to get the low strength variety, I'm sure loctite makes some too.Just one drop of thread locker the key ring is solid now - it's impossible to undo it even by hand. But it still easily comes off by grasping the cable with pliers and twisting the collar by hand.

Not durable. I attached this to my car and house key. A couple of times when I went for walks with my dog it unscrewed itself and I had to retract my steps to find them. The silver turned to gold after a while. The red color chipped away after a while. I bought this Mantaray Waterproof Plastic Coated Cable Key Ring to put my small USB drives on. I have a lot of USB drives which are the small or micro ones that have a hole for putting them on a ring. Well, I found that the hole in somme of them was too small for a regular key ring that you hook the key in and slide it around until it is on the ring. So, one day I was looking at some USB drives on Amazon, and in the list they had an aviation cable key ring, and I searched for cable key rings and found a lot of results. I bought the Mantaray ring just because it was black and is totally waterproof so it it will never rust. It has a screw together closure on it and the cable and coating together are only 1/8" thick so even the smallest of USB drives will fit onto it. I love this thing, leave it to Amazon.

I bought this ring to use as a key chain. I wear a caribiner on my belt loop with all my keys attached and I bought this to replace the standard key chain that was on there. I didn't measure what the diameter would be before I got this ring and it was a little longer than I expected, but that's my fault, so I made due and wrapped it around my caribiner twice threading it through all my keys and key rings. After almost one year of wearing this ring on my belt loop every day, the plastic has started to break and peel off of the ring and that's honestly my only complaint. It's never came undone, it has never broken in any way. It's very sturdy but the plastic on the outside comes off after a while.

Use this sucker all the time. I cannot stand split rings. Clip keychans always seem flimsy and unsecure. My fiance has one these that he made himself and I have always wanted one. Since we switch car keys all the time, we needed something that would unfasten quickly and fit through both of the car keys. Other varieties that I have purchased have not been able to slip into a car key. This one fits!Love it and use it all the time. Hasn't broken or malfunctioned. Flexible enough to shove into a pocket or tight purse.

Great............for a while, however; the plastic sheath will wear away and the metal wiring underneath will unspool after 10 months or so.At that point, one by one, metal wires will break away and begin to poke you hard. Go get the freekey system, I love it.

I have had this key ring for a few weeks now and so far its great. Not too hard to get a great rating on something simple like this. it just has to work and so far this one is working fine.I use it as an extra safety measure on keeping a nice Leatherman Skeletool secured to my backpack. Its in a pocket with a velco elastic strap and I use this to hook around a metal ring on the backpack and on the built in Leatherman carabiner. I used a zip tie before I got this and it worked fine, just a little ghetto looking. This looks nice and simple and seems very strong and reliable. Its very light weight too. Other reviews said it gets loose over time. If mine does, I'll just hit it with a little loctite and the problem will be solved.
