Product good; encountered install problems
Followed installation instructions for this Tuffy under-the-driver's seat safe (model 251) but could not operate the drawer afterward. It was tight to slide on its roller tracks, and it hit a hard stop. Could not close the drawer more than half way. Here is the update after uninstalling the safe, studying it, and re-installing it.The product is sturdy, discreet, and secure. It does not inhibit the movement of the seat. It is in a somewhat awkward position under the driver's seat, but space is limited and there are few alternatives. No complaints about the safe. We would recommend this safe for those who need a security safe in their Jeep. However, there were two separate problems that may be helpful to know if others encounter the same installation issues. Both of them are due to a flap of carpet that lays between the right and left sides of the seat frame. The first problem arose due to there being no carpet over the frame bolt holes. The safe attachment wings could therefore draw tighter on the wings, where there is no carpet, and thus compressing the sides, causing a slight warp in the cabinet. This prevented the drawer slides from operating freely. We noticed signs of rubbing along the sides of the drawer. The fix for this was to place a metal washer over each bolt hole, below the safe wings and seat frame. This raised that area the same thickness of the washers (~1/16”), and prevented the wings from tightening to a level below the level of the carpeting. The cabinet then remained square and level, and the slides worked as they should. The second problem also arose from the carpeting under the driver’s seat. The carpeting was held in place by a single snap that is about half way from the front to the rear of the seat frame, close to the outside seat rail. It had a black cap and was hardly noticeable. But the snap assembly was much thicker than the carpet alone. And the drawer was hitting the edge of that snap cap, preventing the drawer from closing any further. The edge of that snap cap was showing very slight marks from where the back of the drawer was hitting it. The fix was to remove the snap, which was attached with 2 torque screws, one to the bottom piece and one to the top. We doubt that removing this snap will have any effect on the shape or movement of the carpet piece, which is now under the safe. This is a complicated explanation for our situation. But we were disappointed that this job took more than an hour. These problems required about three to four hours, on two separate days, to diagnose and fix, after the original installation. Perhaps others will be helped by including these clues in some sort of troubleshooting guide.Vehicle info:2004 Jeep Wrangler TJ SportThere were no previous modifications to the folding driver’s seat.

Great little lockbox
Box is very sturdy and will prevent any walk by theft. Install was relatively easy. Adding inside bolt cover took a little finesse. Took a firm push to close drawer after install due to tight fit as result of tightening bolts under seat. Holds my Micro sized ccw and a few other small items. Make sure to get correct box for seat type.

Very well made. My seat still slides and "tumbles" like before. Easy install.
These lock boxes are very heavy duty and well made. I didn't have to alter anything when I installed it in my Jeep. I just removed the bolts on the front of the seat, lifted the seat slightly and slid the lock box bolt hole flange under the spacers, which were already on my Jeep. Perfect fit. I can still slide the seat forward and "tumble" the seat to let a passenger in/out of the back seat. I did not have to alter the carpet/snaps either.

Works perfectly
This comes new, so make sure you know that the door will be tight! I used some WD-40 to loosen it up and it worked. This holds my holstered gun and extra mag nicely. Well worth it.My only complaint is that it jets out unless you push this thing all the way back when mounting it and push the seat forward. I have this under my non-flip driver's seat. I may put it under my passenger flip seat . I' check back later.

Installed in 2005 Jeep Rubicon
Perfect fit, 10 minute install, seat still functions normally, and did NOT have to cut the carpet. Very sturdy construction, HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Great product. Horrible instructions
Installation directions very fuzzy and blurry. Should make a video and post it for customers

Fits 2005 TJ without flip seat
This was a bit tricky to install because of the left bolt: If you have a 2005 TJ you will need a universal socket joint with an extender to get to one of the bolts once the drawer is in place. My TJ doesn't have flip seats but after researching I went with this one and it fits fine. I have no idea how the extra security bolt-blocker plate is supposed to fit on there. Maybe if I had a flip seat the bolt-blocker plate might fit. It slides fine with my carpet in there.

Works with flip seats
Got it for the purpose of retaining my flip seat, however the space isn’t too much it holds wallets, keys, phone, great for those days at the river where you don’t wanna lose important things in the water. Install was a breeze and the locking mechanism is solid. Recommend to all Jeep owners
