J Herbin Red Rose Scented Fountain Pen Ink

The ink is absolutely wonderful! It smells like a bouquet of super fresh roses and is a deep pretty rose red. I'm testing a swatch now to see if the scent stays since it's not an overwhelmingly scented ink on paper (which is really nice if you have a sensitive nose like me). I ordered it on the 10th and received it on the 14th~ It came in a small box, and the bottle itself was wrapped in bubble wrap and surrounded little packing peanuts - so barely any room for the bottle to slide around and break.I'm definitely going to buy this again, or at least in a different scent. And would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of using this kind of ink for writing. :D

The ink looks more red than rose colored. The scent is so faint, I can barely detect it straight from the bottle. Hence, there is no fragrance whatsoever on the writing material.

It makes no sense to think that ink infused with a scent would leave a fragrance behind when you write with it. A faint scent is there, but only when you smell the bottle directly. It is totally missing after you fill your pen and write with it.In any case, that is not the reason I ordered this ink. I ordered it for its bright deep red color, which is exactly what I found. Mont Blanc has only one "red" and it is more like brown/burgundy in color. I like this better.Hey! If you want, add some Chanel # 5 to the bottle....if that is what you want in your ink.

This ink is wonderful. I am currently using it on a platinum 3776 which my particular version is just a hair from being a gusher and the flow of this ink into the paper to make very bright red lines in the paper is nothing short of amazing. Perhaps the best red ink (and one of the best inks period) that i've used. Only red that comes close, in my opinion, is J Herbin 1670 red which is a bit lighter and brighter. The smell is not so faint as other people says in my opinion. I can clearly smell it, sometimes from the other side of the room with just a couple letters written. It however, doesn't stay too long after it is dried, which perhaps is nice as i suspect this smell for a long time would easily be annoying. In any event, forget the smell, just get it because of the color, and the amazing flow. This ink is amazing smell or no smell.
