Fun and safer for kids than regular "road" scooters
My kids (aged 5 and 7) love their Razor Pro RDS dirt scooters. They are more fun and easier to handle than the regular more lightweight "road" scooters with hard polyurethane tires that go jerking and jarring down the street. The dirt scooters are not as fast, but they glide along on rough broken pavement and up over sidewalks, making them a good replacement for regular lightweight scooters as the kids go a bit slower on them (which is a good thing) and they are less likely to crash (a very good thing). My single complaint (hence the ding of 1 star on 'sturdiness') is that although they are very sturdy, one of the wheels had a slight rattle for a while that was a bit annoying. We haven't had any issues so far with deflated tires that some owners on here have reported. Note that these red (or black) original RDS dirt scooters are slightly less tall and slightly lighter than the updated Razor Phase 2 versions (which come in teal or diamond edition) and are therefore more suitable for children.

Love these scooters!!!
We do a lot of Old Volkswagen camping events and the terrain is not always the best. Bought 3 of these a few days ago and took them on our first camping trip! Gotta say they did amazingly well, kids rode the scooters on dirt, grass, and somewhat rocky asphalt. Scooters are heavy duty and look great that we even got compliments on them. Putting the scooter together was fairly easy to do, only flaw was I caught my self having a harder time adding air to the tires. Had to actually remove one tire from all 3 of the scooters in order to add air and kinda struggled with the second tires on them. I’m 5’2” and I find the handles to be a little to low for my comfort but I can deal with it. I believe if you are any taller than that, you’ll be hunched over while holding the handle bars, there’s no way of making the handle bars go higher or lower it’s set to one height only.

The Big Knobby tires make the difference
We wanted to get our Granddaughter a ridable gift but she is not the bicycle type. We came across this on Amazon. It had three types of scooter tires. We went and looked at one \at Toys R Us and Academy but all they had was the little slick tires. Amazon was the only place we found that had the larger, knobby tires. All we have to ride on here is grass and grooves. No asphalt or cement. We couldn't of made a better choice. She can keep up with her bother and he is on his bike. We wonder if the bicycle later had the chain broke just so he could ask for one like his sister. We got another one In black just like hers and he has not asked for a bike since then. It is very stable to just cruise. The grand daughter is only 7 and she can scoot. They slow it down by press down on the back fender and that makes for a smooth stop. Even with safety equipment on we have not had the first booboo.

Make sure to fill tires to correct psi before you ride!
I am a 5'3" lady who has loved scooters since I was little. I have several different Razor scooters already which I love but I never had one with air tires before. My 4 year old son started wanting to ride with me every day so I decided to get the dirt scooter for myself. I was worried about the handlebar height since it's not adjustable but it works fine for me since I'm fairly short. The scooter got here a day early so I was happy about that. However, when I opened it and put it together, I tried riding across our wood floors to test it and it was super slow! I thought maybe it was just because of the different type of tire but when I took it outside with my son it was so hard to push myself around that I quit and went back to my old scooter. I pressed on the tires and they seemed full so I didn't think it was an air problem but we pumped them up anyway and sure enough that solved the problem! I went from having buyers remorse to having my new favorite scooter. I know the instructions tell you to make sure the tires are inflated when you get it but I don't really read instructions on scooters since they seem self explanatory. Also, the tires are hard and were not showing any signs of being flat until we checked the PSI with an air pump. So anyway, just thought this info would be helpful for you to know. I've now been riding in the street with my son for a week and I love how this scooter isn't bothered by the many pieces of gravel we have around due to construction. It's a smoother ride for rougher terrain so I like it a lot for our riding area. If I were at a park with a super smooth surface I would take my other scooters since they are faster on smooth surfaces but for riding on our rough pavement I really like this dirt scooter. It's lighter than I thought it would be and overall a nice ride and decent price.

Great Scooter!
Sturdy, and great for off pavement scooting. You’re no longer stuck to just riding on pavement due to the rubber inflatable tires. My 8 yr old daughter is excited to go for a ride outside, but it’s raining hard out when we received it. It’s very easy to assemble. My 13 year old son assembled it in about 5 minutes once he got it out the box. Comes with the tool needed, which is an Allen wrench.

Awesome scooter!
This is the second dirt scooter we have purchased. We had one for our son and our daughter wanted one in another colour also. My son’s is 5 years old and is still in perfect shape. All of their friends love this type of scooter, took less than a minute to assemble and fast delivery! Well worth the money, rides great on grass, rocks, etc.

Nice and sturdy scooter
Nice and sturdy scooter. Amazon had the best price on it. Easy to assemble. We may look into getting some new bearings for the wheels so that they roll a little better.

Well worth it
We live in Ottawa, cold and snowy for 1/2 the year. Gravel on the roads as the snow melts. This scooter extends the scooter season significantly. The large wheels work on rough terrain. The only down side is it's weight. It is heavy and my son cannot do any tricks. If your child likes to do tricks with friends - this is not the scooter.

Great for campsites and around on the roads and trails ...
My son loves this scooter. Great for campsites and around on the roads and trails near my house. Never worryied about little rocks jamming the wheels. It is strong and well built, however it doesn't collapse down. Hasn't been an issue for us though. All my kid's friends want to ride it too. So much fun!
