Dual-SIM Android Phone -- Great Value (5- Stars)
This unlocked, dual-sim, GSM, Android cellphone is a great choice for anyone who wishes to have two different numbers (SIM cards), especially when traveling internationally. It works with all four GSM frequencies, which means it should work on all GSM networks. So far, I've only used mine on ATT (T-Mobile also uses GSM, but not Verizon and Sprint), and it works well. To insert SIM cards, you just need to lift out the battery, insert the card in either position, and return the battery to its position. Of course, you'll need to activate the SIM card on the card's network in question, whether you're using a domestic or international SIM card. For example, if you insert an ATT card, ATT will have to activate it for you, but if you pop in the European company Orange's SIM, then it will have to activate that one through them. You manage your SIM cards in the settings section of the phone.Like all smart phones, this phone uses data, either on the cellular network or via WiFi. If you already have an Android tablet or phone, the interface will be familiar to you. Users of other operating systems (or those who have never used a smart phone) will find it easy enough to navigate once they've spent a little time with the phone. Almost everything is intuitive.Size-wise, it's a little thicker than the iPhone 6 but a hair thinner than the iPhone 5. The outer dimensions are larger than the iPhone 6, with the usable screen about 1/4" longer and 1/4" wider. The battery life is pretty good, although a lot depends on how you use it.The backing of this phone is a white, thin plastic that can be easily popped off but which feels cheap -- like a $5 phone case. That said, you can't see this until you take the back off. (For an unlocked GSM phone at this price point, let alone one with dual SIM slots, a few inexpensive components should be expected.) The phone, when assembled, looks sleek with an attractive front and sharp display. The outward facing camera is good, at 8 MP, and the selfie-facing one is less sharp, as is the case with most, if not all, cellphone cameras. Because this is an Android phone, you have access to the Google Play Store for your favorite apps, although it comes with several pre-loaded.The phone comes with a charging microUSB cable, ear buds, and a white folio case that replaces the current back with the one attached to the case.Despite the revelation of the plastic backing, I'm impressed with Marazi's build quality and versatility. I especially like its aesthetics -- it's thin and sleek. When I took this into the ATT store to get a SIM card, the rep said, "What IS this phone? It looks nice." Yeah, it does. And it is. It's obviously not a high-end smart phone, but it is a nice one nonetheless. Note: I received a free sample for testing and review.-- Debbie Lee Wesselmann
