If you are doubting this product like I was initially then read the reviews. I would recommend this!
I am first off going to clarify that I am using this product for an exercise alternative (for now). So what I mean is I live in United Kingdom and with the winter coming the weather is getting a lot more colder and typically wetter too. So going out to exercise, which is what I normally do is starting to become a struggle to keep up now. To rundown the story mode of the game the โAdventure Modeโ. It is very good. Very immersive. The joy-cons pick up the movement very well to make the game feel that bit more better. Also with the variety of levels. 20 worlds with a total of 100 levels! The story just goes on and on. The games story mode also features 4 different difficulties. I am currently using the 2nd hardest difficulty. To give me a challenge, which thats what it specifies when choosing the difficulty level. Even though I am taking my time. Enjoying the game and replaying the same level sometimes up to three more times after finishing it just so I can work up a sweat while also looking around and taking in the games brilliant colours and flowing game. I actually to be honest when buying this game. Even for its price I wasnโt expecting much. This game has blown me away. Well worth it. Especially to keep fit no matter the weather. I use RingFit Adventure mainly for the exercise, so I use the mini games section of the game a lot too. The amount of exercises and sets that they have to offer are quite surprising actually. There are many to chose from. Even down to the minor detail of exercises that suit the part of the body that you would want to use it for. You can even make custom exercise routines designed for you, or however you want. With the option to save up to three custom sets. The exercises in the mini games section of the game also have 2 different difficulties. So once you get used to Causal, you could test yourself and then it up to hardcore! A cool feature (while I think it is) is that you can even set alarms to go off on youโre Nintendo system to alert you to when it would be the best time to exercise next or you can even set your own schedule. With a 7 day planner. It even lets you select an exact time so if you wanted to narrow it down a bit more you can. I think personally for what the product offers. If you would be using it for exercise then it does work up a real sweat. I use it two maybe three times a day. Depending what happens for me in the day. Exercising for now between 30 minutes to an hour each session. It is tiring by the end of the day. Another thing as well is I also like the tracking feature to the game as well. The game tracks youโre daily stats like calories burned, minutes working out. And even down to how many exact amount of each exercise you have done in that day. It even lets you track day by day stats to compare as well. Also it keeps a record of how many of each exercise you do all together and sets you challenges to complete a specific amount of total exercises, so then it rewards titles for youโre profile on the game. It is very motivating to see how much I did in a day, each day and overall as well. Short rundown: I would definitely recommend this for the exercise and fitness side of the game. The game is very motivational in itself. It brings you back again and again. And also it keeps you wanting to go on and on until you are out of energy. But also you canโt forget the games bright colours and flow to the game. It can make for quite a relaxing game as well. If you donโt want to push yourself and go on the harder difficulty levels. 5 stars!

Exercise that is fun
Turning fitness into a game isn't a new concept, but most of the games I've tried in this market struggle combining a safe, efficient workout with engaging gameplay. Ring Fit Adventure is Nintendo's answer to that. The game comes with a leg strap for tracking lower body movement and the Ring-Con, which tracks the upper body and functions like a Pilates ring. Many of the activities involved require pulling or squeezing it. I don't consider myself to be in the best of shape, but I had no issues with how much strength needed to be applied to get the ring to register an input. If you do find it too much, you can adjust the amount of pressure needed. In fact, the game does an okay job of allowing you to customise the level of exercise to your own comfort. The game also has a step by step stretch period before and after any activity, with frequent reminders to take breaks and drink plenty of water. The game comes with quickplay, which is split into a bunch of set routines. Minigames. And the most surprising inclusion for a fitness game. A story mode. It's a turn based RPG. You jog around predefined obstacle courses, high stepping, rowing and jumping to get to the end of each course. And it wouldn't be much of an RPG without battling, so you also encounter enemies and bosses along the way. Fighting and defending are done through exercise. You select an exercise during your own turn and the better you do, the more damage you inflict. Defending is done by holding the Ring-Con against your abdomen, which is easy enough. You choose your own setup before getting into combat, so the exercise you'll be doing in combat is mostly left to your own interests. The game does an okay job of instructing you on how to move your body, but it isn't perfect. It can't accurately track posture or form, so you might find yourself straying a bit from what is intended. But the game does remind you to stick as closely as you can to what they instruct to get the most out of each routine. The RPG design here is simple enough that most people should understand what is happening, it never becomes complex or demanding in that way. It is primarily a fitness game after all. That being said, employing strategy can make fights quicker and less tedious. I'm not a fitness expert or personal trainer, so I can't say for certain if Ring Fit Adventure is a better alternative than your personal workout or gym session, but at the very least it has been a fun way of keeping active. I can fit in a solid 20-30 minute session and I always worn out. Will the game give you a 6-pack and steel thighs? Probably not. But it doesn't need to. It's a fun, casual way to exercise and be active and it succeeds in being that. If you're like me and aren't that active on a day-to-day basis, this game can easily fill that void. I'm enjoying it a lot. I recommend it! However... I've seen a few people online asking whether this game can be played in handheld mode. The answer is yes. I don't recommend it. Naturally, you'll have to keep a fair distance from the Switch due to the nature of the exercises involved, and the smaller screen makes it difficult to focus on what you're doing. I don't think Nintendo intends for anyone to seriously attempt playing the game this way, but if you're outdoors and have a sudden, uncontrollable urge to play Ring Fit Adventure in public...I mean, you could. Is it worth the annoyance of trying to find a suitable surface to prop up the system, eye strain and questioning looks from onlookers? I'll let you decide. (no seriously, don't bother). So where does that leave the Switch Lite? In a similar position. Except this also comes with its own unique set of headaches. Because the Lite model has no joy-cons, you'll need to buy two of them to work with the Ring-Con. Ring Fit Adventure will *NOT* work without them. And they aren't cheap (roughly ยฃ65 for a pair). They also can't be charged on their own, so you'll also need a charging dock for them (also sold separately). It's not a viable option. The best way to experience Ring Fit Adventure is with the standard Switch model connected to a TV.

Feels like it really cares about your health and fitness
Okay so I have to start by saying that this is such a beautiful looking game - think a slightly more cartoony Breath of the Wild. Don't let that fool you though, this is a proper workout and as long as you're honest with yourself and the software you'll really get a good sweat going. It makes a workout fun in a way I've never seen before so even though I knew I was exercising, I didn't mind at all. The premise of your adventure is simply enough, save the world from the evil Dragaux (who you accidently let out of his prison.) The turn based RPG elements to the encounters are awesome and have some cool mechanics like bonus damage if you match the exercise type and colour to the colour of enemy you're attacking. I also have to mention how sturdy the ring con is, even though you're constantly pushing and pulling it; it never feels like it's going to break on you. The tracking is ridiculously good and it even gives you a chance to monitor your heart rate after each exercise. It'll ask you if you feel the need to increase or decrease your exercise difficulty and the leveling up system feels gratifying. It starts out by explaining stretching and why you should do it. It gives you hints and tips on how to live a healthy lifestyle without coming across preachy and as I said in the title of the review really seems to care about your health and fitness. It's clear they brought in professionals to design the workouts, cooldowns and stretches. I could go on and on about how great this game is but I'll stop here. The only con I can think of is that it hasn't yet come down in price since release and is unlikely to any time soon, if at all. Then again, to even that out, I wholeheartedly think it's worth every penny.

1 Year Plus Review
A fun fitness game that can be used easily by all ages and continue to be a challenge even for experienced users. The Good Large selection of exercises Difficulty levels ensure it stays a challenge Offers healthy eating and exercise advice Fun mini-games The Bad Joycon tracking is sometimes limited Ring Fit Adventure is probably one of the best ways to retain a daily short high-intensity workout indoors. There are numerous ways to stay active with this game including the story mode, mini-games and individual exercises that can be grouped into a saved workout routine. There are numerous exercises to choose from and multiple areas of the body you can focus your training on. One great thing about this game is it encourages warm-up and cool-down sessions that teach you how to stretch correctly. The accessibility is also very low and should be suitable for children and older ages with difficulty levels set when you first start to ensure the exercise is at the right level for your capabilities and can be changed later when you need a challenge. The only downside I have about this game is sometimes the tracking is not accurate on some exercises and this does affect the emersion and focus when trying to complete a set.

No you can't break it, yes it's fun and will get you fit
Long-term boxing fitness player here. I run around 25k per week and wanted something to do upper body that didn't involve expensive gym fees and the hassle of getting changed etc. Boxing served a purpose, mainly for me stretching and getting my arms working, and 4 months in I decided to try ring fit. Initial impressions were that this started development on the Wii, but it took a very long time to make it to market and hence here we are on the switch. It makes sense, this would have taken an incredible amount of testing and refinement. Once the rather silly story part is done and you get cracking, I'm surprised to say the workout is really rather good. I had to stick with it, the first two weeks didn't really engross me that much, but once the RPG elements, music, skill tree and power ups (smoothies) were introduced it really scratched my gamer itch. I've always said that gaming doesn't actually achieve anything - you play for hours, finish a game, watch an invariably pants cutscene and it's over. Job done. Net gain is zero, just entertained for however many hours. This is different. I get the game buzz, but am constantly achieving something. The entire game is based around resistance training with the use of the ring, and core workouts to strengthen your body as a whole. Making a smoothie? You'll have to compress the ring for that. Navigating the stage selection screen? Turn the ring to move. Jumping over a gap? You'll have to squeeze and hold. And all the while it's burning calories and giving you a workout. Once I was hooked, I'm now doing it in-between runs. I select a mixture of workouts, which you're forced to almost due to the different enemy types. And currently the Russian twist and boat pose are my go-to for battle and abs/core workout. To put things in to perspective, yesterday I did 90mins and was aching after. This morning I am a wreck. And that's on difficulty level 22. This is changeable as well. You can also change the jogging on the spot for the traversal levels, so that it's quiet and less impactful on the floor (or neighbours). Nice touch. Currently at level 92 I'm a little concerned it'll all be over soon enough, having to revert to the rather dull sets, making it more of a chore. But I'm hoping there will be some replay value, extension or DLC on its way. Overall Nintendo has really done it, a fun game with enough depth and a great workout. And no I've tried as hard as I can and I cannot break the ring, just make sure the joycons are charged, as they vibrate lots so run out quicker than you'd expect.

Got me back into enjoying fitness again
So I've had the ring fit for a few months now. I burn 200-400 calories per session according to my fitbit depending on how hard I push myself. Story mode: Starts off a bit dull, there are only a few moves you can do. I guess that this happens because not everyone has the same level of fitness and they need to make sure that you can do it safely before progressing. Levels are a mix of running, using certain moves and fighting enemies. Later on you get more and more moves that you can do to target certain areas, some are quite challenging (in a good way). It has also made me aware of some weaknesses I need to work on, my abs and flexibility in my back definitely have improved doing these exercises, I feel more 'well rounded' in my fitness overall. You can tailor make your workout so if you're feeling stressed, I select more yoga, when I want challenge I go for the more difficult and more cardio heavy moves. Whenever I think the game gets too too easy and I'm not working hard enough I up the difficulty and I'm back to sweating again! Like all exercise you have to put the effort in, if I want to burn more calories I run 'faster' in the game or do high knees, if you do things in a 'half a*rsed' way you won't burn as many calories. Once you get to the point of earning skill points and levelling up certain skills the game is fun enough that you keep on wanting to play to get to the next skill point. The story is silly and endearing, I quite like finding out what will happen next. Mini games: Mini games are really fun and some (squatery) are a real challenge. Playing with others really gets the competitiveness going! I didn't do much rhythm games because they didn't seem to be a work out to me. You can select your own workouts, and this part I have only started to do. It's better for when you are short on time. There are some moves you don't tend to use (that recover your life) because you get so many potions in the main game that do the same thing without taking a turn. So I put a few of these exercises into a more tailored workout (legs, arms, abs or cardio) as they are great exercises, but as they don't do damage the main game they seem a bit pointless.

A good yet different kind of workout
Ring Fit Adventure usb2.0 (Nintendo Switch) for Gaming Consoles This offers a different yet unique gaming experience that you don't get from other consoles. The adventure game offers plenty of reply ability so you wont get bored quickly. I liked the fact that the difficulty can be adjusted to your level of experience you if your a complete novice or slightly more experience this is fairly good for everyone. Although you do need a good amount of space in order to play the game as this uses your body movement. The ring-con is a flexible plastic hoop that can be pulled, pushed apart without breaking. during the game play session i felt this is quite durable. Before you start your session there is a little on screen video which details how and where the controllers and band must be placed so it can be calibrated correctly. The game can be used to work on muscle groups which is something i found useful. Although this doesn't replace your gym exercise in general this does still give you a good work out and an enjoyable experience, i was surprised just how much movement you had to do so this is better than not doing any form of exercise at all. Overall well worth the money in regards to value, although expensive there is a good amount of replay value.
