Do you recommend getting the 2 year protection plan for these paper filters?

Yes, definitely. I use the same filter for over a year, then send it in for replacement. The the two cents I save is offset by the warranty fee and return shipping costs, but I am both cheap and stupid and it gives me a sense of beating the system.

What is the particle or micron size?

Couldn’t find it either, but would reach out to the manufacturer. For chemistry/mycology, I totally understand as well, these could be really useful, and also used in place of micropore tape if they can stop small enough particles.

Why so expensive? I buy these at retail for $3.69 for 350.

Amazon price includes 'shipping'. If you try to buy those 350 for $3.69, you'll get hit with $5-7 shipping charge. Think of Amazon's price as $5+$5 (two packs fo 350) + another $5 for shipping that you would pay for separately anywhere else. Now your question can be, "Why is Amazon including shipping fees in the base price?"

Why does the 2450 count cost twice as much each as the 350 count?

I see that the 350 pack is sold and shipped by Amazon and the 2450 comes from another seller. Elsewhere on the web prices are all over the place for these filters... from sensible to bonkers!
