Worth the money
Best knife I’ve ever used. Sharpness is on point and it’s the best thing ever to someone who loves cooking. Just be careful while you’re washing it.

Very sharp
A bit scary, as it's worryingly sharp

Breaks far too easily
This is my second one of the Kyocera black ceramic santoku knives. The first I must have had for the best part of ten years, it was in constant use and it was an awesome knife. I only got a new one because the old one was not sharp enough anymore. The new knife seemed to be excellent at first, same great sharpness but after only having it a few months the blade broke slicing a piece of ginger - something I must have done hundreds of times with the old one. These newer knives are obviously not as robust as the older ones. If you just use this knife for slicing tomatoes on a wood chopping board you'll be fine, but because it is so fragile and brittle you are really limited as to what you can use this knife for. I won't be buying another one.

No longer chip resistant
On the LEFT is is my third black Kyocera chef's knife, for which I'm writing this review. The knife on the RIGHT in the images has had nearly ***3 years of daily use*** and I love it - though you can see why it was time to buy a replacement! *The big chunk was entirely my fault*.And then the new one arrived, and is being returned after only 2 weeks. I'm so very disappointed. I could feel and hear bits chipping off simply by rotating the knife on the chopping board - it is astonishingly fragile - and possibly downright dangerous as those chips are likely to find their way into your food!I really hope this is a faulty batch and I'd invite someone to get in touch as I will really miss having this.

Very poor quality
Very disappointed with the lifespan, I didn't even get 6 months from it when it broke. I started to see chips on yhe edge of the blade, then a few weeks later it snapped in two!Spent a lot of money on a product that lasted less time than a cheap item on the high Street.

Top of the notch
Besser als Kyocera gibt es fast nicht. Extrem gute Keramikmesser. Schneiden super. Nur gegen Granit haben sie keine Chance 😂

Taglia come un bisturi
Assolutamente un bisturi da tagliare benissimo. Attenzione alle dita perché é un bisturi!!! Fantastico

Very sharp but prone to chips
The sharpness of the blade is exceptional, and the sharpness holds for quite a while, but it’s so prone to chips and dings. I’m really careful with my knives and wash, dry & store immediately after each use in the blade protector sleeve, but this still chipped after only a few months use, unlike the white Kyocera knife I have. Even with 2 small chips in the blade, it’s still sharper and cuts more precisely than other ceramic knives so still use it occasionally.
