These seem sturdy. No one has been bit yet to test them. The only problem for young girls is needing to use the bathroom. Boots have to come off, these have to come off, then all be put on again. It's rough if you've got kids that have to take a bathroom break every hour while camping. We actually found snake proof kids boots at academy and bought those after getting these. Only downside to that is they go knee high and these go up to the hip area.

I saw some reviews said they were slender. My daughter is slender so I figured they would be ok. No good. We can’t zip them and I bought a size bigger than she needed for height. Only buy these if your kid has actual toothpicks for legs.
