I was only using this tool on a small job so I don’t feel like I was taxing it out at all. It worked just fine. I tested it first on a nylon tarp. It didn’t have any trouble with the nylon tarp. But my project was working with exterior fabric, and it didn’t completely push the wasted material out so I had to cut it out manually. Not the end of the world though. The only change I would make to this tool is perhaps a stronger magnet to hold the grommet ends. I would definitely recommend this tool for its utility and value.

I'm in love with this tool. I do crafts all the time and am constantly using a hammer and trying to line up the grommet and never fully satisfied, often frustrated. This made everything line up easily and the tool did all the work, so grateful it was easy on my arthritic hands. I precut the fabric because it was so many layers but the cutting tool included made that so easy too. I used it on my felt busy book for my grand daughter.

Absolutely easy to use if you need to add a grommet to something. Years ago, I owned a less impressive grommet tool that was too difficult to use. This grommet tool is fool proof. I added grommets to a work banner and to my daughter’s prom dress back!!! Easy to use and effective!!!

I bought this grommet tool specifically to squeeze out another year or two of use for my above ground pool winter cover. After a couple of years the original grommets start to tear away from the fabric and then I can’t hang chlorine jugs from them anymore (to keep cover on tight during the winter). This grommet tool fixes that problem perfectly. I just slap on a new grommet near the old failed one and hang the jugs using the new grommet. The only complaint is regarding the side tool they provide to cut out the material in the middle of the grommet once it’s attached. It is cumbersome and doesn’t fit very well. I just use an awl and poke a hole in the fabric with that. So far…durability appears to be fine, function is spot on, and they give you a substantial amount of grommets. Recommended.

This works great, I have used it on vinyl, cotton, tarps and it works great. BUT the gromets do rust

The tool is decent for the cost I guess, nothing special but does what it should. The grommets on the other hand are definitely not heavy duty at all. For anything I would use them for they are entirely too weak and flimsy. Never seen them this weak actually but I’m sure they are useful for some things, just not anything that will be under much tension really. Was looking for something a bit sturdier than these but not as expensive as I can get from a local store. There are likely much better options. These would be okay for adding extra grommets to a plastic tarp or something like that but will not work for a shade sail at all for an example.

Easy to use, and does exactly what I wanted it to. Repaired a tarp and it is like new.

I'm an average diy person and this tool is easy to use. I don't know about some reviews are having trouble using this tool. A recent high wind took out the seam in my car shade cloth that was gonna cost me as much buying a new one. With the help of this tool, made two holes to the size of grommet using box cutters on opposite side of the seams. Punched them with tool to get a perfect grommet on both sides. To be honest you need to use both hands firmly to get a good punch. That's all. Couldn't be happier.
