Benro C2970F Versatile Tripod with Carbon Fiber Flip Lock Legs

I purchased this months ago and realized I never left a review. I have a larger Benro aluminum tripod, an A3580F. While this tripod is not rated to hold the same weight it still easily handles my largest and heaviest DSLR and lens. The multi-function center column is a great addition and allows you to position the tripod in a lot of rather convoluted positions and yet it still remains sturdy. It is much lighter than my Benro A3580F and I find myself using it more often. If you want a carbon fiber tripod don't hesitate to look at Benro products. They are well made and perform perfectly.

Purchased one new, and another as a discontinued model at 50% off street price. There's not much that's flashy -- it's a straightforward and solid-seeming tri, with the huge benefit of being gentle on the wallet and, because it's carbon fiber, easy on the back. I'm certain there are pricier, more bombproof & more generally over-wrought options out there ... but as I'm not poising two million dollars worth of photo tech on it ... it'll do. I don't mangle my equipment much and seldom ascend Mt. Everest: the construction seems more than robust enough for what I'll throw at it. Moving parts work smoothly, the leg sections are stiff and when set up exhibit no flex, and nothing seems particularly flimsy.However, it's true that an earlier twist-lock, four section Benro had an issue with an upper lock section. It was well out of warranty and was returned by Benro's service department as "not repairable." I shot some high-viscosity epoxy under the collar with a plastic syringe & voila: it's fixed & working perfectly at the moment. Customer service, should you need it, seems willing -- but only up to a point.

Good Solid Tripod. Handles my Bronica GS1 with ease. Lightweight and well built. I would recommend this tripod to anyone who is looking for a light but solid tripod

I like it. For its weight, it does a great job. Easy to carry. Legs are easy to adjust.

This tripod is better than I expected - and my expectations were high! It positions smoothly, and easily so allows me to get shots from virtually any angle, and it supports my heaviest camera and lens (650-1300mm!) combination solidly. My heads (a pan/tilt, and a gimbal) mount to it easily and operate smoothly on it.I'm a happy camper!

This is my first carbon tripod and what a nice surprise. My previous Manfrotto aluminum is a 6 lb monster by comparison. The flip locks are the same style as the Manfrotto and work very well. I ordered mine from BH photo in NYC and received it in less than two weeks.Camera equipment is a Canon EOS 5D mk11 gripped with L bracket and 24-105 f4L.Pros: Very light weight, around 3.5 lbs. My Sirui K10x ball head weighs in at 1 lb added.The flip leg locks have adjustments as to what level of "snug" you may desire.Leg extending and retracting is very smooth and speaks well of the close tolerance construction.When unlocked the center column can be used for panning and rotates nicely. It's other operations are very easy with two locking knobs, one to control the column height and lock it in place, the other to pivot and lock the column to a horizontal position once the column is pulled up and locked. A tool kit and bag are a nice touch. Tools are allen wrenches and a hex tool as well as spikes to replace the rubber feet if required. A registration card and instructions are included.Possible Cons: Time will tell on the ruggedness of the unit mainly the column design as described above. The column clamp and knobs assembly is of plastic construction and could in time show it self as the weak link in the design.

Strong enough to steadily hold my heavy Canon 7D with mounted 100-400 zoom lens. Flip locks area stand quick to use and securely hold. This tripod performs as well as some costing twice as much. Recommend to all.

After extensive research I finally bought this tripod. I like the pivoting column since I do lots of food photography. Manfrotto has a great tripod but unfortunately they pivoting column is either 90 degrees or 0 degrees. No in between. Also I like that fact this one comes with a carriying bag. I'ts an excellent tripop. If you need a light tripod this is the way to go. Carbon absorbs minor vibrations. And if need a sturdy tripod this is also the one. you can attach a heavier ball head in it and it till stabilize it. I only with the pivoting column to be at least another 4 inches longer.

Dopo attente valutazioni ho deciso di cambiare il mio Manfrotto 055 prima serie con questo cavalletto Benro. A parte la leggerezza e la robustezza data dal carbonio sto apprezzando molto la colonna centrale che posso gestire in ogni angolazione. Il fatto di avere tre regolazioni distinte credevo fosse macchinoso, invece è molto intuitivo e veloce. La possibilità di mettere la macchina fotografica praticamente rasoterra è la ciliegina sulla torta. Il rapporto qualitò prezzo è eccellente, al di sopra nettamente di marche più blasonate.Il servizio Amazon è stato, come sempre, esemplare.Consigliatissimo!
