Handycam Does It Again!
After about a decade of using my old DCR-SR47 Sony Handycam (yes I looked at the box just now to find out what model it was) I decided I was tired of my battery constantly dying on me. I wanted to get an upgrade. Thankfully Sony Handycams are still a thing and I was pretty confident it'd be easy to use like the previous one. This one also has much better video quality, some interesting options to play around with, and it came in this nice package with lots of other useful items. The camera itself is a bit thinner and lighter than I like, but it's an adjustment from my old one so I'll adjust. I like that you have a control nub to navigate menus rather than a touch screen viewfinder because my old one got a bit dirty from using the menus after a while. I also like that the charging cord snaps into the hand strap when not in use yet also the charging cord extension can be unplugged from the wall adapter and plugged into your computer rather than just using the tiny one from the camera itself. The package came with some nice items too, like a spare battery and a battery charger so you can swap out a low one for a fully charged one, charge the low battery, and keep on recording without much of a pause. It came with a car charger too, though I haven't used it. Screen protectors are nice but I haven't used those either. The light it came with is pretty nice. It's a tad bright and when the batteries in it are low it flashes like a strobe light rather than dimming. It also doesn't have amazing battery life, but it's fine for using it in necessary situations for lighting. I like the way it screws into this bar that also holds the camera to keep your light level and with the camera. The bar screws into a little platform that then snaps into the tripod. The tripod this came with extends a few times to be taller and while it's very small when fully collapsed, when you extend it the thing feels very flimsy. Thankfully I could just use my old tripod as it uses the same screwing mechanism and feels sturdier. This comes with a 64GB micro SD card for space while also containing 8GB of internal memory. Bigger video file types can be an issue for going to the internal memory but at least it's an option. It's also a nice upgrade from my old one since while that one had 60GB internal memory it had no way to use external memory as far as I know, plus it was and HDD rather than this one which is SSD, meaning it's generally quieter when recording and picks up less background hum. If that's not enough, you also get a couple nice adapters to make sure you can get your files from your camera to your computer and a case for SD cards. There are also some lens cleaning supplies which is nice. The one other big piece here is the carrying case, which is a slick looking hard case that comes with semi-customizable foam pieces inside so you can make your own sections for placing the camera and various other equipment. Even though I don't plan to travel with my camera much, it's a really nice case and even if I end up just using it for storing the camera when not in use it's still really cool. The price for the whole package, considering how much I will be using the camera and how much confidence I have in the brand, is pretty good. It's a great upgrade that's still easy to use and comes with a lot of nice extras that may or may not come in handy as time goes by. If you want a nice camera to step up from using your phone or built-in webcam then this is absolutely a great place to start.

Best bang for the buck bundle on this camera.
I ordered this camera to record hunting videos through the scope. The set it came with is awesome. The carrying case fits all of my camera equipment including all of my accessories for my 2 sony action cameras. All of the components are interchangeagble with my other cameras as well which is another big plus. The camera works just like any other sony camera. Me and my 11 yr old son had no issues getting it set up and recording with out the instructions. It is compatible with the playmemories both desk top and mobile app. The picture is clear through my standard scope and my NVG scope. Have not had the chance to get it out in the field yet but I am expecting top notch videos and photos throught hte scopes. Shipping was fast. I got it in about 3 days. This is the best bang for the buck package deal I have found for this camera. If your looking at it just order it, you will not be dissapointed.UPDATE: So after a few months of using this a couple times a week I am still very happy over all. A few things I have noticed,The low light function, Takes about 3-5 seconds of holding dead still to start to register my green laser at night.A very slight lag when filming through the scope. If I move the rifle to another target the crosshairs will move in the fov of the camera then once I stop moving they come back to center. More noticeable on the night vision set up. Its not the scope as it does not do it with out the camera. when I get a chance I will try to turn off the image stabilization in the camera hopefully this helps. I have missed a few targets due to this.Other than that man its an awesome light weight little camera and all the accessories it came with are very nice. My 16 yr old daughter has commented a few times on how nice the display is. Over all still very satisfied.

- Good value for everything that's included
We use this for training sessions in a conference room and for capturing work instruction video on the manufacturing floor.PROS:- Good value for everything that's included; tons of accessories- Hard case is very nice and comes with adjustable/modular dividers so you can split up the case how you want to fit the accessories- All recording video modes are clearCONS:- USB cable is a bit short if you plan on recording for LONG periods of time. Make sure you have a power strip and outlet nearby or invest in a USB extension cableNOTES:- The camera is set to default to record to the camera memory and not the memory card. Easy to swap in the menus, though...- The camera is set to default to record in HD mode, which will burn through a memory card pretty quick. 64GB = about 8 hours when recording in this mode.

Great for the price, well great in general.
I never write reviews on here, but this camera is incredible for the price. Crystal clear 60fps video. I have footage doing 80 mph on the highway with the digital zoom in a bit and still no blurry/grainy-ness. The tripod leaves a bit to want, as it's not super sturdy, but it does the job most of the time. Back to the camera itself, it's super light and feels nice in your hand while recording and all the buttons are in nice places. With even default settings it looks good even in low light, although the light that comes with it is crazy bright. On the LED light, mine even on like 1/2 full batteries only stays on for like 2 minutes before it starts strobing a little, which is irritating, but fresh batteries cure the problem, I have a ton of rechargeables. Could just be a defective unit. Anyway, camera is awesome, case is awesome, my light may be defective, tripod is acceptable for sturdiness but excellent for how compact it can be and how quick it is to set up, 64GB SD memory is awesome for how much extra you can film plus you could have more if you wanted/needed, extra battery and charger (especially in the car) also allows nearly unlimited filming time. All in all, I've had this for a month and couldn't be happier, I was looking at spending hundreds of dollars more on other cameras, decided to try out the el cheapo first, and was pleasantly surprised.
