Ordered this to view my dog whilst I’m away. I must say I am blown away by the image quality, and the fact you don’t have to pay for cloud service really sets it apart from many more of its expensive counterparts. Highly recommended!

Very effective

This was the first brand of indoor CCTV camera I purchased. The first one I was sent would often drop it's connection to the wifi so a replacement was quickly sent. The second one was OK - the set up was a bit hit and miss but eventually it connected OK to the wifi. I do find the app very clucky and slow and worst of all, it really badgers you to sign up for one of their cloud subscriptions. You don't have to - you can review footage recorded onto an SD card but it doesn't stop them trying. You also get pop up ads.It wasn't until I tried a similar camera from a different make 12 months after this purchase that I realised there was much better cameras for the same price that crucially have much better connectivity and apps that don't keep trying to sell you ad on services i.e. cloud subscription packages. I've now bought three cameras from an alternative brand and this camera is relegated to the garage.

We bought this camera back In 2020 and from the get go it was absolutely useless at picking up our daughters movements but it can pick up a speck of dust going past the lens. The picture quality at night is pretty shoddy and switches itself off and resets at least once a night usually after you’ve spent ages trying to get your little one to sleep. After nearly two years you now can’t even watch back the clips as they now want us to pay £95 for the cloud so as for this product I wouldn’t waste your money and buy something else.

I really like this camera. It is cheap and it is easy to use. Really helpful and I’m happy I bought this.

Really good little camera

A buggy camera, the app is unnecessarily clunky and confusing. The Tapo cameras and Tapo app is much easier to use.I have 3 WiFi cameras. This one and two Tapo ones. The Tapo ones are by far better than the Yi. The reason I say this is because I set mine up as a CCTV inside the window looking out. On a night there is no switch to force the Yi camera NOT to go into night mode (infrared mode), and as a result the image is washed out with the infrared hitting off the inside of the window.We have sufficient street lighting outside, so I don’t need infrared. But there’s no way of turning it off like you can do with the Tapo.Also, it won’t let me view over 4G when I’m out and about, it just sticks at “establishing secure channel - loading 30%”. Otherwise could have been 5 stars.UPDATE: It keeps on recording when there’s no movement even though I have it set to “motion detection” and set at medium level. Last night it recorded 7 hours solid, taking up nearly 2Gb on the TF card. There’s something clearly wrong with the algorithm. As a result the star rating is now 2/5. I wish I’d gone for the Tapo.You really need to build this into your app. Then it would be perfect.
