Fit my needs perfectly
I purchased this power inverter as well as one with two USB ports and a single plug. I wasn't sure which one I would prefer. It turned out that this one with two AC plugs was just what i needed. It powered the small electronic devices of my kids over a two day car trip without any problems. Devices included portable DVD players and hand held game devices. Also IPODs. Worked with one or both plugs in use at the same time powering the devices with no problem. I had considered a higher power rated device but some of the articles indicated the 150 Watts is about what you should expect from a car 12V power outlet. I don't know if this is correct or not but 200 Watts was more than enough for the devices I used. I did not try a laptop so I can't speak to that. Some reviews indicated a slight electric smell for a while. I did not detect one at all on mine. I could hear the fan on occasion but the sound is not a problem with general car road noise basically drowning it out.My one complaint is the location of the on/off switch. It's right between the two plugs and the wide size of a DS charger plug extended far enough that it covered the switch. If I pushed the charger all the way down it would turn off the inverter. I would of rather this switch be on the back of the inverter. This device is far better than trying to find car charger adapters for each of your electronic devices. I thought I might like the one with USB outlets more but this one was more flexible since I already have AC plugs to convert to USB and the kids were forever changing which devices they were using. If they were using a USB device, they just used the AC plug that came with it. This inverter also has a USB outlet but we didn't bother using it.

Good quality just a little noise under load
I use this on a set of batteries for solar energy. This thing cranks out very good and clean energy. The only thing is that randomly it'll crank those fans into full force for a quick second instead of slowly / gradually getting faster and faster. So if you have it somewhere that is not near you or a noise reduced place they don't harm that much. Over all this is a very great product and i recommend it for anyone that needs one! It is also very cheap compared to others.. but this one actually works!

Works Great!
Have been using this unit for several months now, it works great! Makes good toast, operates computer (is right now), and operates power tools and outside lights. Variable speed AC tools do not like the modified wave output, and the AM radio has a lot of interference. Otherwise, a really nice unit. Is bare bones, no cables included, and the screw connectors did not hold up, but was able to drill them out and install good bolts and better connectors. Worth the moola though as advertised.

Whistler Pro-200W 200 Watt Power Inverter by Whistler
I am really surprised that there are no reviews for this great power inverter, I have seen it in Radioshack some time ago for 39.99$ and almost bought it there. Amazon offered much better price so I went for it. I have used it once in the camping trip last week and it performed great, we used it to power up the laptop computer and the drop light with 20Wat neon light in the tent. It is surprisingly well made for 20 bucks, solid aluminum convenient size casing, fan is quiet and it comes on and off intermittently as needed, it gives you a signal if your battery is getting low so you not drain it completely.I would reccomend this nice piece of equipment for a friend. I have no I idea how long it will last but for now it made my wife and kids happy :)Thanks For Reading.

Great little Inverter
this is perfect for most kinds of work at remote sites, I can have my angle cutter. sander, and a battery charger all plugged in at the same time. I tried using my miter saw but it didn't quite have enough power for that, it was right at the 10 amp line thou. I spent some money on a couple of 1guage wires to hook this up, but for non-continuous use jumper cables work just fine. I've used this for around 5 hours mostly continuous work with a more or less constant 6 amp load, and it worked great. I keep my car running so as not to deplete the battery and after a total of about 40 hours, haven't had a problem yet. I couldn't afford a generator, but this is the next best thing. the power poles are exposed and so I would want to wrap those up when I install it permanently, otherwise, no qualms at all.

Dubious functions on well priced inverter
On the face of it this looks like a great buy for 1200 watts. The inverter has three outlets and a red digital readout that alternates between showing the state of the charge in the vehicle battery and the draw from the inverter to whatever is plugged into the three outlets. This is a really neat tool but upon closer examination sometimes the draw number turns to zero even though the unit is still charging. I have also noted that with my engine off and the battery draining into what i am charging, the battery charge level readout went up a few notches when it should have dropped. There appears to be a malfunctioning fan too as it goes on for four seconds or so then dies out. Not really enough time to cool the unit if it was hot enough to warrant turning the fan on in the first place. I do not have much faith in this chinese made inverter lasting too long. This would be a super inverter if it was made properly with quality control. I do not recommend this item as I see signs of easy failure due to poor quality. Caveat emptor.Update 10/12As i expected the unit failed after about six months. All i did was plug in one end of an apple charger that was not attached to the device and i heard a pop and that was all she wrote. Just bought a different model and make inverter. Two stars may be too high a rating here so i dropped a star for lack of durability. Avoid this model.

Worked well to charge my cellphone, GPS and laptop ...
Worked well to charge my cellphone, GPS and laptop. Would get quite hot occasionally, but that is to be expected. A little noisy. Overall, suited my needs.
