Camp Chef 22-Inch Professional Style Cast Iron Lid Lifter

First off, this shipped immediately and it arrived literally as I hopped in my truck to head out for a Scout event in which I was going to be doing a lot of Dutch oven cooking. Perfect timing.The construction of this tool is very simple. It's a piece of cake to use. It's all metal, but is not a heavy tool. The plastic on the two hand/finger parts is a very smart addition.Note that this is not spring-loaded in anyway. The lifter will not automatically be in any position, except maybe "down," given that this is where gravity is going to pull it. If you're lifting a lid with this, you're going to have to hold it tight. the three legs do a great job of pulling the lid in tight so you have a solid grip on it, which is great for dumping coals/ash from the lid.This tool was the envy of all the other Dutch oven-cookin' dads, some of whom I know already have gotten one for themselves.The price is very good, under $20.Bottom line: great tool at a great price, which works exactly as described.

This is well made and holds onto my 14" dutch oven lid with no problems whatsoever. Excellent tool, must have for any dutch oven enthusiast.

The lifter received is solid and worked well. The length is great especially if you are DO'ing in a deep fire ring and hate kneeling down to rotate the lid. For anything else, go shorter - It is not like they hide the size of the lifters to deceive you!The stock picture is old as the new ones have rubber/poly like grips making it more comfortable.Will definitely grab a shorter set for other setups.

Love this tool! Easy to use. Grabs the lid of my dutch oven and won't let go until I let it go. Also works great for picking up the entire dutch oven. Highly recommend. Would buy again if needed.

The quality seems good, but I saw it may be a little too long. In my opinion, it would be easier to maneuver with one that is smaller.

I know there were some complaints about slag interfering with the operation. I didn't have that problem. Worked perfectly out of the box. Gets a good grip on the lid so you can even tip it to 90 degrees to dispose of the ash. This would be too long if you're using a dutch oven table but perfect for using on the ground.

I've recently gotten into dutch oven cooking and needed a way to lift and turn the lid covered with charcoal briquettes. This lid lifter works perfectly, and the long handle saves my back. It's made of heavy cast iron and I expect many years of use from it.

I bought this for an AHG campout. 4th -6th grade girls were able to use it. It came on time and worked well. I would have preferred if it had a spring in it.
