Exceptional Heated Water Bowl
Update 11/29/22:Still heating water, still the best on the market. The K&H bowl I bought did not heat the water at all, it remained freezing cold. This bowl actually heats the water which is what I wanted for the poor outdoor creatures.I've used this bowl to keep wet cat food warm in freezing temperatures as well by outting the food into a smaller bowl and using tin foil to take up the extra space and also keep the bowl in place. Worked great. Just need to buy a few more!Update 1/12/21:Still a great heated bowl. As a testament to its durability the bowl was completely buried in snow after a storm a few weeks ago. I was shocked to find it still working with heated water underneath all the snow :-) Not just unfrozen, heated! Love this durable, waterproof bowl!_______This was the second heated water bowl purchase I've made. I wish I'd bought this one instead because the water stays warm versus K&H's "heated" water bowl in which the water doesn't freeze, but the water is icy cold. Last year we had record lows and -35 F wind chills with below zero weather at the same time. Last year we kept the K&H water bowl in our garage with the door open 12 inches so for the feral cats we were feeding, however, it was still freezing cold in the garage and the water didn't freeze. We thought that was great, but it bothered me that the water was icy cold. This bowl actually keeps the water lukewarm in below freezing weather and this year it's kept outside. Granted the weather hasn't been as brutal as last year was yet, but the weather is expected to be the same or worse this year.Don't hesitate to buy this brand vs. K&H's.

Keeps water warm, but not too hot.
Keeps water warm, so far, not overly warm... waiting for the feral cats to accept it in their little environment, There's a red light that lets you know it's on, and has a nice sturdy, coiled wrapped cord (like the old-fashioned coiled telephone cords), but it's only 6 feet long, so you will probably need an extension cord. Very happy with it so far.

Works very well.
There are some stray cats in my neighborhood. I felt badly because any water I would leave out with dry food in winter weather would freeze. I read about heated bowls and found this one. Some of the others were huge. This one was the right size. I used it from end of January through March on some of the coldest nights with temperatures between 7 degrees and freezing at 32 degrees. It worked with no issues, keeping the water cool to lukewarm all night. I followed all instructions. I did not use with an extension cord as this was not recommended. The sturdy, metal cord was long enough to be in my single outdoor outlet where I usually plug in Christmas lights. The first couple of nights, I checked it through the night. It makes a soft clicking sound when in use. Inoted no problems. I didn't leave it be buried in snow. I shoveled a spot on my front stoop to place it. I didn't allow it to be over or under filled. It worked really well and the animals were using it. I will keep it for next season and hopefully it will work as well. I am grateful for this item to allow them to have fresh water.

Almost perfect
It works great. Even kept the water fluid during the artic blast from hell back in December. The only thing I'd suggest is moving the on/off switch to the side instead of on top so the dogs can't turn it off while jumping around.

No ice
So far it works, my squirrels and birdies like it. So far the water has not iced over on the coldest days. I hope it lasts for more than 2 yrs but we will see, right?

Outside cats love it
The outside cats love it. I accidentally left it on when the temperature outside got into the 40s. The water seemed a little too warm to me (about the temperature of hot tea) but the cats were still drinking it. They actually seemed to enjoy it more that way, which was a big surprise.

Amazing product !!!!
We purchased this water dish specifically for our outdoor Birds & Deer. We have hit -15 to date in Alberta and the water does not freeze. We highly recommend this dish

Small, super warm pet bowl
So far so good. I bought a new other after the big farm one I purchased previously only lasted one year. This one is considerably smaller, and the water does heat up to what I’d consider too darned warm for consumption, but my dogs don’t care. It gets wicked cold here (-30c to -40c) so it kind of balances out. We have to refill it more often, but so far it’s not annoying. The Husky’s howl if we forget, so no biggie, but if you’re someone who doesn’t want to have to keep refilling it, then get a bigger one. This is honestly more suited for barn cats, though they’d probably hate the temperature because cats are like that. I don’t think I’ve been super helpful in this review, but here’s a sum up: if you live in a very cold place (ie prairie Canada, Yukon, NWT, Alaska, Polar caps), don’t mind refilling it more often and have animals who aren’t too posh to drink warm water (bordering on too warm to be thirst quenching on warmer winter days), then this is for you. If this sounds like a nightmare, then buy a bigger one. The farm sized one worked well until it didn’t. Roll the dice.

Holds heat well
Chickens like it, keeps the water warm so far. Would not put in coop due to increased moisture in the air from steam.
