Bates Men's Gx-8 Gore-Tex Composite Toe Side Zip Work Boot

Super light and comfortable. I walk a whole heck of a lot at work and come home with my feet feeling pretty good. Also the goretex does a great job at keeping my feet dry in the rain

These are the same boots from the Captain America: Winter Soldier movie. Not only do I love them as a geek, but they are also my duty boots at work. I put 6 miles on them the FIRST DAY I wore them and wasn't effected badly at all. No heel burn. No leg pain. No foot pain. AMAZING BOOTS. Not even my White's could do that.Someone else decided they liked my boots too... and pilfered them. So here I am buying another pair.

I have worn a few different Bates boots before, including the Zero Mass 8.0s, and the side zip quarter boots, so I had an expectation of how these would fit and feel. When I opened the box to find that I had accidentally ordered the composite toe boots, I was about to fill out the return form. Just for grins, I tried them on, and was surprised by the fit, especially in the toes. These boots lack the typical unforgiving cramped toe space of protected-toe boots. The sock liner has enough cushion that I haven't yet placed a set of orthotic insoles into the boots. The goretex liner has plenty of cushion as well, and is warm enough for the near-term weather we had in MI last week. The only big downside so far is that with the composite toe, I have already scuffed the leather on the outside of the toes from kneeling down on a scene. The other boots I've had without toe protection have been able to bend against the ground and didn't scrape so easily.I work on an ambulance in a busy urban area, so these boots, like my previous ones, will see plenty of wear, tear, and abuse. I'll edit this review if I come across any issues with durability, but so far, these will be my go-to boots for winter service.Pros: comfortable, warm, side zip allows easy on-and-off, good tread pattern, plenty of ankle support.Cons: Easily scuffed boot tips, shoelaces look and feel cheap, soles are slippery when new.

These boots used to be comfortable and functional for a faster pace boot.But they get worse and worse every year. The insole is nearly non existent. "Gortex" waterproofing is laughable. Step in a puddle and your boot will soak.Pay the money for a quality boot, but these aren't it anymore.

I bought these for motorcycling and they are great. I've found that tactical boots are a good choice because you get lots of support and protection but can still walk around comfortably. I've ridden about 7,000 miles wearing these and never had an issue. The construction is solid. The eyelets 'grab' the laces so they are easy to tighten, and the fit is very good. They also look good enough (when clean) that you can wear them out to the bar or restaurant and not look like a vagabond. If I manage to wear these out I'll be back for another pair.

I tend to just buy boots that cost around $50-65Thinking anything more isn’t worth it but was I wrongI read a lot of reviews and watch some clips of these boots and well they live up to the hypeComfortable, durable and great ankle support for areas that are unsteady like roofs and rocky terrain!!From the highs to the lows it’s been nice having boots like this when working ,I do notice sometimes they can be a little slippery but normally in places there are lubricants like oil or something on the ground but winter ice will be even more of a test !

Fit was exact. Light weight. Nice amount of insulation.

Je suis instructeur de tir et je dois tester de longue période de temps debout sans déplacement et bien souvent dans la boue, ces bottes sont très confortable et surtout imperméable. J’ai le pied large j’ai donc acheter les « W » et c’est parfait

Really good boots after wearing magnums for years I have found these boots to be amazing they are a really good fit and being goretex they are truly waterproof

Fit well and appear well made. Excellent alternative to heavy steel toe work boots.

バイクに最高です。最初は固めですが、柔らかくなるのは早いです。ちょっとソールが厚いので夏スニーカーとかを履く人はシフト調整の必要あると思います。個人的には夏でもそれほど蒸れないし暑くないのでオールシーズン使いました
