dr. Tech introduces the new WF-1070T wireless weather station for indoor and outdoor humidity and temperature. The package includes one wireless receiver and one temperature and humidity sensor, batteries not included. The wireless receiver transmits at 433MHz of frequency, of up to 100 meters in open space. Receiver also features a radio controlled clock, digital LCD display of date, time, calendar, air pressure, barometric pressure graph, weather forecast, moon phase and also has an alarm with snooze. WF-1070T has an indoor temperature range of 32°F to 140°F or 0°C to 60°C ; outdoor temperature range of -40°F to 149°F or -40°C to 65°C ; with user preference of degree display option: Celsius or Fahrenheit.

I would recommend the Acurite 00611A3
Barometer reads lower than actual by a fixed amount. Can't find anyway to adjust. Temp reading seems high but might be related to location, although the outside sensor is in the shade (a absolute necessity), it is close to brick which might be affecting the reading. If you are just looking for outside/inside temp and humidity, I would recommend the Acurite 00611A3, also available from Amazon.Com. I have one and it reads more normal than the Dr. Tech. Final comment: at 7 months from purchase "time function" resets to default (12 noon, 1 Jan 2010) randomly. I think it is related to the "RCC"-normally called Atomic Clock. I contacted Slim Sharp and SVP and finally Amazon----all to no avail. So beware, buy at your own risk.

Inaccurate readings
Pros: It did pick up the RCC (radio controlled clock), so the time and date were correct. The LED screen was easy to readCons: Inaccurate temperature and humidity readings on either the main unit or the remote/outdoor unit. I left the remote/outdoor unit sitting directly next to the main unit and the temperature was off by 2-4 degrees, the humidity was 2-3% different. I left the two pieces sitting together for 24 hours, and they were consistently different. I don't know which part was showing the wrong temperature (I suspect the remote/outdoor unit.)I have returned the weather station. Why would I want a weather station that gives me wrong data?

I first bought one for me to make sure I liked it. That unit was great
This is a hard review for me because it has everything I was looking for in a weather station, but customer service STUNK!! I first bought one for me to make sure I liked it. That unit was great. So then I ordered 2 more for my Mom. She has one in her master bath and one in the kitchen. One came with a broken stand. NO biggie, but I had to pay the $7.85 to mail it back and then pay shipping to receive another. Crazy Right?? If anyone knows of a weather station that has a small footprint and both inside and outside humidity, please let me know. I hate to keep giving Dr. Tech my $$ when they don't care about their customers.

it arrived in great shape and on time
Hey, it arrived in great shape and on time. This, for the low price, is exactly what I was looking for to monitor the temp, both indoor and out. The installation was simple for the exterior monitor, too. There are way more interesting weather stations, I'm sure, but this covers the basic information for an extremely frugal price. Enjoy, Robert

Very impressed so far!
I just got it set up earlier today, we'll see how it holds up over time but so far I'm really impressed. Setup was a bit cumbersome but after a couple of tries I got it programmed. Wireless connected flawlessly, main unit in living room and remote on front porch. I've checked it against my Diamond Crown (humidor) thermometer/hygrometer and both indoor and outdoor temp/humidity readings are spot on. And this thing was dirt cheap as compared to others!

and good buy for the price
Works as advertised, and good buy for the price. Downside is that the barometric pressure is in metric units and I can't find a way to switch to imperial. Upside is that it has a bar graph that shows which way the pressure is headed, so the units aren't terribly important. Temperature is switchable between celsius and Fahrenheit. Humidity is percent, of course.

Highly Inaccurate!
This instrument is highly inaccurate in both outdoor temperature and humidity. I give it one star because there is no lower rating that I can give it and still warn potential buyers to avoid it.

Reasonably priced useful little gadget
If you aspire to being a real meteorologist you'll need to spend a lot more money than this unit costs, but it is a good, inexpensive way to keep track of indoor and outdoor temperatures. It measures indoor temperature very accurately. The accuracy of your outdoor temperature reading is entirely dependent on careful placement of the remote sensor in a location where it's not affected by direct sunlight or nearby walls that are heated by the sun. There is no way to calibrate the barometer and mine reads high. However, this isn't a major problem because most people like me are interested in up and downward fluctuations in barometric pressure, not the absolute values. Just don't expect it to forecast the weather, it won't with any degree or accuracy. My downgrade to 3 stars is because for me the daily radio updating of the time isn't reliable and there is no way to override or turn off this automatic function that begins daily at 0200 hrs. If my vertical blinds on the sliding glass door are open enough the updated time from Ft. Collins, CO comes through via radio just fine. If I forget and leave the metal vertical blinds closed, no signal is received and the unit reverts to its default date and time - 01/07/2009 at midnight. Then I have to reset the time manually which is a pain.Overall, a handy little gadget for the price, but not a serious instrument for measuring the weather.
