A very nice Schneider light switch.
A lovely, well made switch from Schneider. For those not in the electrics industry, Schneider have a very good reputation, for solid reliable equipment. This is technically an intermediate switch with 4 terminals on the back. However, I bought it to just use as a straight forward, 1 gang, 1 way lighting switch with a switched line at the back box.To do this, you use the top 2 terminals, labelled COM and L1. It doesn't matter into which terminal you put either cable. It will work the same, both ways.It does come with a useful instruction sheet, for all of the Schneider Lisse range, which has diagrams on how to wire up, for different uses, such as 2 way switching etc.As ever, when it comes to electrics, if you are not 100% sure of what you are doing, than get someone in who is.If you have a neutral in your back box, you don't need it for this, so leave it unconnected (but hopefully, sealed off).As this is a metal switch plate, it does need a CPC ( earth) connection. This should be connected to the single brass terminal on the back of the switch. If you do not have a protective earth on your lighting circuit, then you must not fit metal switch plates.Fitting itself is very easy. Just pop the front off to reveal the plastic face plate. (I used a small flathead screwdriver to lever it off). Then connect up as required, (it says TOP on the front, to stop any confusion). It comes with standard fit 3.5mm screws to secure to your back box, but, they are rather short (18mm), so you may find you need to use your existing screws. Then, once fitted just push the face plate back on, for a lovely smooth, neat finish. The switch is 85mm square in size, as many modern ones are. This is slightly smaller than the older style, and as can be seen in the photo, it can show your painting up if you painted after fitting switches. In use, it has a very nice, satisfying 'click', and as previously mentioned, with its flush, screw less finish, looks very modern and smart.I am happy to recommend this switch. Yes, it is a little more expensive than many, but it does have the quality that I expect from Schneider, and should last many many years.I hope you found this review helpful.

FOR THOSE WHO ARE SWITCHED ON
Satin brushed brass (gold coloured) earthed, metal faced, 2 gang, 1/2 way wall light switch.A quality fitting, competitively priced.Mine is installed downstairs in the hall, operating the downstairs ceiling light and the upstairs landing, which also has it's own individual on/off light switch. The upstairs light requires a 2 way switch, which this unit has.One of Schneider's Lisse electrical range, it has a black plastic insert border around each switch. This attractive looking switch suits contemporary, mid century and older styles. The switches themselves have a satisfying solid positive action. The unit, like the actual switches have a rounded design, which is ergonomic and stands proud from the wall by several mm.Once wired up correctly the metal face place simply clips on and is automatically earthed. The unit's profile/depth is shallow, allowing it to be fitted into a 25mm pattress box.Terminals marked 1,2 way, com (common) and loop.Terminal screws are small and recessed making wiring difficult if the wires are short.Whilst the rear of the switch is well made, there are some other, better designed, terminal switches with a shallow profile.Hence I gave this 4 out of 5 stars.I am genuinely delighted with the installed switch and is a joy to use.Ideal for those who are 'switched on.'A bit of light humour.Photos. - I have labled the upstairs/downstairs switches myself. Please excuse the dirty finger marks.

Lovely, but no dirty paws please.
Great build quality and easy to install. The manual is very busy, but if you're stuck there's a lot on the website yo help out. The finish is excellent, though as it's chromed, it leaves fingerprints, which a simple wipe will remove. 5 stars.
