Hydor Hydroset Thermostat, Digital Display, for All Heater Types

My Hydrokable will be set for 79, and my backup heater for 77, so that the hydrokable always takes the lead. The cheaper version, without display is really adequate, but I like the idea of having a display.

Hooked this to the inline 300w heater. Both are very poor products and support from hydor. I will guarantee Iwill never buy another hydor product.

Have a pen light ready to read the temps. Would be great with a cheap led backlight. Poor for the price.

I think this is great. So far it works perfectly fine. I bought it to get rid off the ugly heater in my new tank and thought I would give this a try since I got it cheap. Also, I thought it saves me a thermometer since it has a display showing the temperature. Well, I am not sure I saved much. All the additional cables you have hanging around to connect the external heater and the temperature probe. The external heater (also Hydor) is quite large and it took a while to heat up my entire tank. Now I guess it keeps the temperature nicely and turns on when it drops around 2-3F. The reason why I give this only three stars is the following: a) I could not find an option to switch it to °C; b) there is no lock for the temperature wheel to prevent accidental change; c) this is supposed to be used to keep an eye on your water temperature yet it has no good feature for hanging (especially to keep it above water levels). There is a little loop which can be used but then the display would be upside down (!!!) - Really?; d) it is quite large for what it does; e) I am visually impaired and the display is very dark, a display with backlight would be nice (so I guess I have to buy a thermometer anyway).

So this guy, I got him with my 300 Watt external in-line heater by Hydor. I purchased it due to many other reviewers saying you needed this because the internal thermostat on the heater goes out. Well mine is on all the time anyways due to the size of tank I have (210+sump). I never see the temp get to the 82 degrees I have it set at, however again, this is due to the tank size. I would purchase again, as I feel this is a good product.The digital read out is nice, I know exactly what the temp is and what I have it set to. The little knob they have on the device is a bit fickle thus for the only 4 stars instead of 5.

An easy to used and dependable thermostat and controler. I use this with the Hydor under gravel heating cable and it works perfect. A set and forget device!

The digital controller is decent enough, but when the set temperature is reached, the damn thing clicks. It is likely because, once the temperature is reached it turns off, seconds later the water is cooler and it turns on again. They really should put a timer on this thing so that it does not attempt to turn on right away after the temperature is reached.

Works great and the aquarium is at a very stable temperature. Bulky design way too many wires and connections. Make it simpler, smaller, and back-lit.

Works beautifully. Very accurate as well. Best price you'll find anywhere. It's a Hydor product. What more can you say?
