Steinberger Synapse TranScale ST-2FPA Custom Guitar with Gigbag, Trans. Blue

This is easily my favorite guitar that I own, and I take it with me whenever i'm going to be away from home for more than a couple of days. It stays in tune really well and always plays / sounds great, and I keep an Apogee Jam in the gig bag so I can play / record wherever I am. My only complaint -- and the reason I don't give it 5 stars -- is that the built-in capo is a bit on the plasticky / cheap side, but otherwise it's a beautiful instrument :-)

Very versatile guitar; ultimate solution for easy travel. Both for practice, recording, and gigs. Tonal quality is excellent and very flexible. Much easier to carry for a 2-hr gig with less weight. Baritone neck give the guitar excellent sound when played in Bb, the long and deep sustain is incredible. The build-in capo is convenient, although the engraved capo track can be irritating to the fingers. Personally, I'd prefer a baritone guitar WITHOUT the build-in capo, one can clip on a capo (or not) when needed. The build quality is exceptional, totally worth the $800USD. There are so much careful thoughts put into designing this guitar, there is nothing else like it. Really an excellent invention from the great Ted Steinberger. The only build problem is with the battery compartment, the plastic cover is not easy to slide open, the 9V battery fit too tight and tangle with the wire.
