996 911 CDR220 product
Basic a product as it gets. I tore the wiring to my hardline 3.5 audio. This installs in the slots for AUX and CD changer, but I do not use the changer anyway. Works well, good quality audio, good connection. No more cables.

Item pictured is not what I received
I have a Becker Cascade 6112 and I am trying to replace the hardwired cord I have already for my iPod that took goes into my CD changer input on the back of the unit. The picture on the listing shows the same connector that is on the 6112 so I figure I'd give it a try since on Becker Audio's site it is 4 times the cost. If nothing else, I might have to move the wires in the ISO connector but that was no big deal. When this arrived, it had a completely different connector on it that I couldn't modify. So back it goes. I did double check the listing to see if it says "item may not be the same" but I didn't see anything like that.

Worked great in 00 Boxster with Becker cdr220
I was about to embark on a cross country LA to Nashville run in my one week old questionable Boxster S and I was panicking to get music for the trip and this adapter was the only thing available that would arrive in time. So after receiving and installing and then a bit of trouble finding how to activate the Becker to see this input, I was off and running. I sort of expected it to drop out and cause problems but it never did. It worked great and has enough quality and bandwidth to sound good with the Boxster stereo. I'm an audiophile so I appreciate better quality and frequency response and this adapter did not disappoint, and although the Boxster audio system isn't exactly great, it's good enough as long as you like all the sound coming from the front... But that's another Boxster story....One thing that's annoying is you can't really use it to talk on the phone. You will hear the phone ring over the stereo and can hear people talking when you answer the phone but there is no mic for you to talk back to them. That's not the fault of the adapter though; just pointing out that if you want to talk on your phone and hear people through this adapter, you will need to add a mic and figure out how to connect it, which may or may not be possible. Frankly, I don't care that much and it's more trouble to me than it's worth. However, this adapter fulfills a vital role in bridging Spotify with Bluetooth with a twenty year old car and it does it well and for a low price.(Oh, to activate the Becker to see this adapter, search on YouTube. It's easy and only takes a couple minutes.)

Worked as advertised! Astounding range!
Installed in my ‘99 Porsche and it fired right up instantly.Works perfectly and sounds great.I’m an audio engineer who cares about sound quality and it sounds great! The range on this thing is astounding! I’m like 100 yards from my car and I’m still attached to the Bluetooth.Highly recommended.

Didn't work with 2004 Porsche 911 (996)
From reviewing the product description, I understood this Bluetooth adapter would work with my 2004 911 Turbo (with Becker PCM original stereo). After going through the couple-hour process to remove the stereo and install using the CD Changer input jack on the rear of the Becker stereo, the product wasn't recognized by the stereo. There is a very small LED light (power indicator?) and that didn't light up after installing and powering on the radio. Not sure if I received a dead unit, or if it simply isn't compatible with this stereo. Unfortunately I missed the 30-day return window.

Works Great but Have to Manually Connect Bluetooth Every Time
Edit Feb 21, 2022: The iSimple device worked as planned and connects automatically to my iPhone. I am definitely not a sponsor in any way for iSimple, but I have attached two photos to show the parts needed and where the connections are for the alternate solution in the event any other Porsche owners with a CDR-220 radio want to try the iSimple alternative. I pulled out the CDR-220 from the dash using the removal keys and had the iSimple device power wires connected and had the HQRP Aux adapter and female RCA/3.5mm adapter all connected and working in about 15 minutes. As stated in other reviews, to activate the "Aux" function on your Becker CDR-220 for the HQRP Aux adapter, YouTube has multiple videos showing how to activate the Aux function and it is very easy.Original Review: I am using this adapter in a 2002 Porsche Boxster with the standard Becker CDR-220 radio. I would give this adapter 3.5 stars. This bluetooth adapter works great and has a lot of pros but the one con is causing me to seek a different solution because I know living in a world of fickle bluetooth connections could be a little bit better.Pros:1. Very easy to install; this device is plug-and-play2. Low price3. Sound quality is really goodNeutral:1. Power is always on. There is some discussion about this in the reviews, but yes, the plug in the back of the Becker radio where this bluetooth adapter gets power is not switched on by the car key, and power at the plug where this adapter gets power is always on. For example, you can connect to this adapter when the car is turned off with no key in the ignition; the radio will not be on, but this adapter is powered up and turned on all the time. With that said, the power draw is minuscule and probably less than a car alarm that is always powered on and this thing has not affected my car's battery in any way.2. This adapter does not work for phone calls and it is only for streaming music. I knew this when I purchased this adapter and don't plan to make calls from my Boxster. Some adapters are made with microphones and the ability to handle phone calls and some aren't...this adapter is only for streaming music.Con:1. I have to manually connect my iPhone 8-plus to this adapter almost every time I drive my Boxster. When I get in the car, I have to pull out my i-Phone, open settings, select bluetooth and then select this adapter in the list of available bluetooth devices to connect to this adapter. Then I have to back out of settings and go to my preferred music app to play music. This connection process is annoying. I have an iSimple Tranzit Blu bluetooth adapter in my 2006 Porsche 911 (the Tranzit uses FM radio to connect and handle phone calls...this is definitely a good bluetooth option), and the iSimple Tranzit Blu adapter recognizes my phone through bluetooth every time I turn on the car which makes the iSimple adapter much more user-friendly. The only time this adapter being reviewed is ready to go when I get in the car is if I connected my phone to the adapter earlier and then stayed within range of the bluetooth adapter while the car was turned off (this is because the adapter is always powered on so it stays connected to my phone when I'm close...see the neutral item 1 above). As stated above, bluetooth is a fickle technology, and some bluetooth devices connect to some phones automatically, and some don't. For my iPhone, this device being reviewed does not connect automatically, so I am in the process of switching to an iSimple ISBT23 Bluetooth Device (also a music-only adapter...not made for phone calls) with a $12 HQRP 3.5mm male Aux adapter that plugs into the back of the Becker radio, and I will use a female RCA to female 3.5mm adapter to connect the ISBT23 to the HQRP Becker Aux adapter. This new solution will cost about $50 to $60, will require me to connect the iSimple to the Becker radio's switched-power positive and negative wires so it will only power on when the car is turned on, and the iSimple reviews indicate the iSimple ISBT23 device connects automatically to iPhones every time the same as my iSimple Tranzit Blu device does. If the ISBT23 does not work out, then I'll change gears again and switch to connecting through the FM radio and will purchase an iSimple Tranzit Blu device and the needed antenna adapters for a total cost of about $125.This Bluetooth Device being reviewed here works fine and has a lot going for it, but for the reasons above, I am continuing my hunt for a better bluetooth solution. I hope this review helps fellow Porsche owners make an informed decision for adding bluetooth to their stock Becker radio.

Re-pinned to work with my VW
So these ISO plugs are common among European cars. Not to mention Porsche and VW are in car-bed together.I was able to re-pin this into my factory harness using the signaling wire for the CD changer as 12v, ground to ground, and AUX L R. It seems that the colors didn’t align correctly L R where R is traditionally red. However since I was making it work in a slightly different application I guess the colors don’t ultimately matter.Hopefully it holds up!
