works better than expected
While I may not have extensive experience with monolights outside of the studio, these open whole new avenues of photography for me. Often my standard flashes didn't meet my needs for many outdoor projects. this battery powered monolight has given me options i had not expected. I will be acquiring more and also use them in my studio.

Great flash to have
Easy to use, great power, low intensity burst shot friendly! Love it

A light with great utility for a variety of applications.
Mostly for headshots and portraits. The light is powerful enough for most applications, and small enough to make carrying it easy. The LED is useful for placement and to help focusing.

What a deal
Fantastic strobe. And thank you Adorama for a really compelling Black Friday deal! The beauty dish is a bit unwieldy, but light quality is excellent.

Great Flash but misfires Mar perfection.
I am using Interfit S1s up to this point. The flashes are pretty much equal with the S1s remote being much less complicated. The problem with the S1 is the modeling light is way to weak. The Flashpoint is better in that respect. One thing I noticed about the 400 is that the range on the remote is seems to be longer and if you Sir On settings 1A your flash will pick up other remotes and fire. I had a problem in a Studio complex with this. Just set to 22C. The real problem with the Flashpoint is it misfires too much. I would say 1 in 10 shots are a misfire. The figure could be a little higher. I know the flash can't tell but it always seems like it's s great shot that I lose. I keep the S1s as backup because the Flashpoints seems like sometimes the settings seem to change and when your at a Shoot its frustrating to have to try to go through the settings searching for an answer. Never had this problem with Interfit S1s. My Thoughts are if your shooting in a Darkish studio go with Flashpoint. If shooting outside Interfit. Flashpoint could also have a more intuitive manual. They give you so much info on each setting but really don't explain much as to what it does. Just here's a Switch. My question is, What does flipping the switch do?
