Works fine, USB ports are USB 1.1.
I've had one of these before, it was about 10 years old, but after about 10 years in my computer bag it got beaten up. I bought this one, because they do not sell these anymore at Walmart. The Amazon ad says that the USB ports are USB 2.0, but according to my computer they are USB 1.1. A USB mouse or full-size USB keyboard will work just fine with these ports, but data transferring to a flash drive or external hard drive will take longer. Ergonomics gets three stars because the triple zero button is kind of silly, it should be a double zero. My primary use for this keyboard is typing in frequencies so I can program my ham radio from the other computer. All in all, it works just fine, no problem. The one I received was black.

Solid, reliable number pad
Works great! Glad I bought a Warehouse item, so it was cheap, and it works like new. It's not a fancy mechanical keypad, but it's comfortable to type on, portable, and it has two usb 2.0 ports. It is a solid, reliable number pad.

Great for Teachers
I bought this for my wife(math teacher). She uses it for entering grades and such. This is the second one that we have owned. The dog chewed the first. It works with both laptops. Just plug and play, on both windows XP and Windows 7. We have not tried it on our windows eight laptop yet, but I would be surprised if there was any issue.Good enough for daily use. Not to heavy, and doesn't seem to mind being dropped off her lap and onto the floor occasionally. Cheap enough that you don't cry when it's time to replace it.

Works as advertised!
This is a great quality USB keyboard that is an add on to my current laptop. It makes spreadsheet work a lot faster and easier. I don't use this everyday, but plug it into the laptop when needed. It is compact for travel. It also works with no problems on my MacBook Pro. I agree that if you are great at 10 key typing this might not be the keyboard for you, but it works great for the average spreadsheet user.

Not really Vista Ready!
I bought this Keypad for my HP Pavilion DV6675US 15.4" Entertainment Laptop (Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7250, 4 GB RAM, 250 Hard Drive, Vista Ultimate) since I use a lot of engineering software and excel but I was deeply disappointed when I first plugged in the device supposed to be VISTA READY.At first I had a really hard time to make this work, since it says drivers are installing and after about 5min it says drivers are not found. I tried to search for drivers for this device but there are NONE. I wrote to Targus Support and they weren't that much of a help, they asked me to try again, and again, and again, by uninstalling the device from the device manager in Win, but that didn't make any difference. After a lot of time, and a lot of rehearsal I found that after windows fails to locate drivers you have to choose a location manually and enter the Folder Windows/System32, search subfolders, and it DOES install drivers and works. It has to be done 4 to 5 times, since it installs drivers for the Keypad, and the USB Hub included in the keypad (2 USB 1.1 ports).I know that probably this isn't Targus fault, but they should test it more throughly before labeling a product VISTA READY. By the way, it works flawlessly in XP, a real Plug and Play.About the characteristics offered by the keypad, it's alright, nothing more or less than you would expect from a $10 USB keypad. You just have to be cautious when entering 0 if you are used to a regular keyboard keypad. For XP I'd give it 5 stars, but for Vista it's barely a 3 star product.

Simple problem - perfect solution.
The simplicity of this product is its virtue. It does exactly what you expect - no more - no less. My laptop doesn't have a number pad and I didn't like the "laggy-ness" of Bluetooth number pads so I gave this a shot. It also has a single USB port of its own, so - if you already use a wired mouse - you can use this without having to sacrifice any additional ports. It doesn't weigh anything, but the buttons feel "solid."Best of all, it includes a button we've all wanted to push from time to time (see picture). ;-)(nb. It's a backspace key.)

Targus Keypad and Mac
I recently purchased this keypad to use with my MacBook Pro OS 10.7.4 I wanted to let Mac users know that the keypad works fine. The trick I learned is that the first time you connect the keypad to the computer a window will open called the Keyboard Assistant. Simply close the red circle in the upper left hand corner when that window opens and your Keypad will become a plug and play device. I have seen other Mac users struggle with Keypads like these because they use the Assistant. It seems harmless enough to follow the prompts for the device but I have found that you do not need to do so. This device is also helpful because as you are using a USB port on your machine-it offers 2 others.

USB keypad makes my laptop number friendly
It has always been a pain to input numbers on my 15" laptop using the shift key for the Plus, Multiply, Minus and Divide keys. My next laptop will be a 17" just to get the numeric keypad. The Targus USB keypad has large keys and does everything I needed and now I can input math functions and numbers into Quicken and in my spreadsheets. The keypad feels good and looks even better. The only problem I noticed is associated with one of the extra features. Since the keypad itself takes up one of the valuable USB ports, the keypad provides two additional ports. The problem I noticed was that it appears that they are apparently only USB 1.0 instead of USB 2.0. I noticed the much longer time it took while backing up a Quicken database onto a USB flash drive.
