product description is inaccurate
Despite this product description which is in very poor English: "There is solar panel design on this irrigation timer, and it can absorb the solar energy as power supply, also it is a eco-friendly and energy-saving item. Besides, there are two pcs solar power rechargeable batteries provided to you" There are no "rechargeable batteries provided to you". It's quite a puzzle since the product obviously needs a pair of AAA rechargeable cells. From other reviews I didn't expect there to be batteries included, but it is a cheap gadget so I bought it. In general I wish Chinese manufacturers would employ writers that can write decent English. It looks so shabby when the English is so bad. Maybe it is a kind of revenge for American products described in Chinese...

Lacks 7 day option
Assumed, incorrectly, the timer has option for watering every day of the week; it does not. Only options are for every 2nd or 3rd day depending on how each program start day is used. Like other reviews, pkg contains no batteries of any kind.

It ALMOST works
I've had this product for about a week, and the threading on the plastic fittings has already disintegrated to the point that I can't screw anything onto it tightly. I had changed hoses twice, and this third one won't attach at all. I've had to remove it and I'll be ordering a different product. I wish I didn't throw out the box, otherwise I would return it. A week later - I had ordered two of these before finding out if they were any good, and decided to give the second one a chance. Maybe the first one was just defective! Unfortunately, no: I'm lowering my review from 2 stars to 1 because of this. I attached the hose, set the timer, and for two days, all was well! Until the timer clicked on, and the threading gave out under the sudden water pressure being applied to it. The hose ripped off, shredding the threading again, just as above, and couldn't be reattached.

Bad quality
After 2 month of use found some water leaked inside the battery compartment. This has ruined both batterys. Do not recomend.

Careful!
Beware: the input thread to this timer looks like a hose thread but it is NOT. It's a NPT (National Pipe Thread) "21 mm tap with 26.5 mm thread". You can get a 3/4" male NPT to 3/4" GHT (Garden Hose Thread) adapter if you look in the right place; they're not that common but at least you'll know what to look for. Once you get the plumbing set up, then you have the arcane task of programming the timer. It's not user-friendly, and it'll take a while, but once you'll figure it out after a half-hour or so. When you do, it does have a lot of flexibility. This timer unfortunately is not waterproof. It did survive several years of rain, but it could not handle the (admittedly rare) tropical storm Hilary that recently hit Southern California. Even though I had the transparent cover on, somehow water leaked into the battery compartment and killed the timer. My other irrigation timers had no problem; the storm was not really that bad. Also, the transparent cover does not stay transparent. After a year or two, it clouds up and you can't see through it. So to check the timer, you have to remove the cover. This timer lasted about five years which may be OK, However, I also have other timers that are over ten years old and are still going strong.

It is not really solar!
What a fraud, it's not solar! There is what looks like a solar cell on top, but in the battery compartment you need to install two1.5v AAA batteries! The wire to the battery tray is badly done like it's an afterthought. I don't return very much from Amazon, but this is trash.

Returned to seller. Although the packaging had a sealing tape "Quality Control Passed", it was defective and did not work.
