PHILIPS 53W 120V PAR30 Halogen Narrow Flood Bulb

Do yourself a favor and skip the big box store— the bulb aisle will consume your patience. Instead, simply order the same bulb here and you’ll save both time and money. I have loyally repurchased this same bulb over the last decade. No brainer

This product was purchased as a replacement for the GE 48W PAR30 (GE48PAR30HIRFL) bulb. The installed location is in my bedroom, on a dimmer switch. The original GE bulb burnt out in May, 2015, which is about 2.5 years after installation (installed January, 2013). I had a hard time finding the same bulb online, so I purchased this as a replacement. The Phillips bulb is noticeably brighter (920 vs 840 lumens), but only if I am looking for the difference. Casual onlookers wouldn't look twice. This particular bulb has an expected life of only 1100 hours (vs 4200 hours for the GE), so I expect it to last less than 2.5 years. The lamp was installed on June 11, 2015, and I will update this review once it burns out.

Both boxes arrived clearly damaged, with one missing the top entirely. I tried both bulbs anyway, and neither worked.

Perfect couldn't have asked for more. These short stem halogens are hard to find in stores. Now we have a box of them.

These are hard to find in my hardware store, this was the exact replacement part. Arrived safely packed and lights my room well.
