Presto 05813 16-Cup Digital Stainless Steel Rice Cooker/Steamer

I went through a lot of reviews for rice cookers looking for what I needed - simple rice cooking nothing else. Finally settled on this beauty, and it by far exceeded my expectations. I had noticed other reviews for different brands of rice cookers that were a bit fancier with digital readouts that a lot broke down easily, and that the digital options were often the cause of it, not to mention little to no warranty help when it did.. So I decided fewer options, reasonably priced, and no digital, was right for me so I could make this cooker last. Very easy to operate. My daughter likes white rice, and I like brown rice - so the option for cooking times for either was what sealed the deal. This rice cooker cooks them both to perfection!!! I would totally recommend!!

Very happy with this rice cooker purchase.It's a good weighted cooker that has a nice,sleek design. If your kitchen is black and chrome it will fit right in among your fixtures (if that's the sort of thing you worry about.) The best part about this cooker is honestly how easy it is to clean. The steam hole topper just pops right out and comes apart to make sure your cooker stays good and sterile. Same with the water catching side cup!Now, when you first get this be sure to give the inner,cooking pot a bit of a wash. It does have a metal/chemical kind of smell when it first cooks, and that will help minimize that issue.The only semi-complaint is that its a little annoying to open. You have to be a little firm with the button, but that does ensure its a snug fit.Overall, fantastic, and does the job!

My wife is Filipino. Needless to say, this rice cooker has been used every day for the past 6 years and 5 months. It makes nicely cooked rice. It is simple enough for my son to use. The rice pot is removable so it is easy to clean. Some of the nonstick coating has scraped off over the years, but all buttons and lights are working perfectly and it operates like new. On a per use basis one of my Best Buy’s ever!

Absolutely amazing. It is really big but you don't have to fill it in order to get perfect rice. Even after unplugging the rice cooker the rice stays quite warm. It's so easy to use and worth every cent!Just wanted to add--I've made brown rice and white rice in it and both turned out perfect. I even used the steamer while making the rice and the veggies were great--quick and easy meal that's foolproof. I just had a baby so that was a relief--I want to be able to just put something on in 5 minutes and be done with it and that's what the rice cooker allows me to do.

This rice cooker is working for me. It seems to get the bottom of the rice a little overcooked but putting more water in helps. The steamer is really nice too, and I've even cooked hardboiled eggs in it along with the rice. Super handy and cooks brown rice in about 30 minutes instead of the usual 45 to 60 minutes and it comes out nearly perfect every time. I'm happy with it.

I love the feature of having a rice cooker and steamer in one. Easy to use, easy to clean (though be careful with using any abrasive sponges or utensils, which is why a spoon comes with the rice cooker). It is larger than I wanted or thought, but I kept it anyway because I love it so much. The feature that separates whether I'm cooking white rice or brown rice is quite nice as both types of rice requires different cooking times. The rice does not come out mushy and is perfect every time I use this rice cooker. I have left the rice on warm for a couple hours and I find that if I fluff the rice when it is done cooking, it will less likely stick to the bottom. This is a must have and I don't regret buying this rice cooker.

We had an Oyster Rice cooker for years and it was great. Broke down and I could not find a ready replacement. Eventually tried the Presto. Fantastic. All it does is cooks rice (and veg if you want) and it does it really well. Simple to use and not overly complicated. Very well made and looks really sturdy. My wife and I would definitely Highly Recommend!!!

So far so good with this thing. I originally ordered the Oster one that says it holds 6 cups of cooked rice, and that seems to be a popular model, BUT, what they don't mention is that if you fill it with rice to its capacity, it no longer contains the headroom needed to steam stuff in the basket. So I realized I needed a bigger one, and this one seems just great. I make rice for two, but love to have leftovers for a couple of days, and this is perfect for that amount.The Presto is a nice design, easy to use, and the only flaws I can think of are 1) the steamer basket is plastic, and it ought to be metal, so that I don't have to worry about chemicals leeching into my food, and 2) with the lid open it's actually a bit tall, and it bumps against the bottom of my kitchen cabinets. However, this is probably a knock on most products in this category, and also a knock on the guy who installed my cabinets too low. I hate that guy.So get this one if you want a lot of rice, and you are ok with a plastic steamer basket. I actually don't think any of the under-$50 rice cookers have anything other than a plastic steamer basket, but I'm not sure. The rice bucket is metal, of course, as it should be, and can go in the dishwasher.

Delivered this rice cooker earlier than expected, was so excited of using it the very first time. I do not mind of seeing with a slight damaged in the box but after unpacking the item, these are what I noticed: rice paddle is a bit yellowish in color with scratched marks caused through washing and scrubbing. The removable pot had scratches on coatings inside and with a burned marks on the outside bottom surface. There's a burned marks on the hot plate showing a sign of previous use. I called Amazon the following day and ask for return authorization and was told that refunds will be issued once they received the unit, Definitely not a good buying experience!!!

Me llego bastante rápido, en una caja bien sellada sin estropear, con una caja bastante grande , la dimencion del producto es bastante grande , sin daño alguno , en el interior viene una taza y una cuchara para no dañar el cuenco que tiene teflón, y una cesta para poner verdura o proteína. Tiene 3 botones pero sin duda son suficientes ya prepare arroz y pollo en 2 ocaciones y probare hacer un pastel, compre esta olla por que no solo sirve para cocinar arroz, es funcional para multiples recetas em general estoy contenta con el producto.
