Q: Is it good for hanging plants?

I guess you can use for this purpose. It's sturdy , so I do not see a problem to hanging plants in baskets

Q: Mine didn't come with screws, what size are they so I can assemble everything?

The few screws that came with it are operated w a little wrench Not sure if you just by screws because they were attached to other parts. Most just fits together

Q: space between racks is too close can you get extensions even with the adustable cross bar?

They are wider options if you keep looking or order two. I could not do without these racks.

Q: where was this manufactured?

I'm sure it's China, but it is NOT poor quality. I tried 2 other racks that fell apart. This reach us currently holding over 100 shirts top and bottom for over 3 months and hasn't buckled or bent or topped over. It's very easy to move, even on carpet.
