Crokinole Bumpers - 8 Brass Screws with Rubber Latex

I made 2 homemade Crokinole boards for myself and my best friend. On my board, I just used a wooden dowel for the bumpers. On my best friends board, I used these brass/rubber bumpers. I was wondering how differently they would play, and the answer is a lot and not that much at the same time. With the rubber bumpers, there’s A LOT more speed from a bump. That makes sense because the rubber gives on contact and then sends that energy back out. The wood just absorbs the shot, but still redirects the disc. That was the main difference I could see. Beyond that the wood pegs and these rubber pegs still kind of had the same general play characteristics for the game. Both would ricochet discs off the board, and allow for unique banks to the 20 hole. The difference in the 2 can be controlled by the power that the player uses for the shot to obtain the correct action from the discs.These brass screws did look really good on my friend’s board though. He has a cherry playing surface with a walnut gutter, and these complimented the aesthetics nicely. My board is a maple ambrosia playing surface with a walnut gutter. I don’t think these would have fit the aesthetics of my board. I would weigh that in a purchase decision more than how the pegs react to the discs.

They are the best . They are silent when the chips bounce off and have a great reaction when hit . It makes the game Crokinole , so much more fun with the unexpected action they give

I had hard plastic pegs in my board, and thought I was okay at Crokinole. Then I added these. Now I'm terrible again. Perfect!
