Bandai Tamagotchi P's Blue (Japan Import)

Super adorable shell, with more things to do than the other Tamagotchis I've played (M!X, 4U, V6, Uratama, Nano). Admittedly, that doesn't mean very much seeing as how there are so many other versions I haven't tried, but the P's is my favorite so far.It can be patched to English, so that already helps in the "engaging" department. There are a ton of characters that you can raise/collect in your notebook, making the "purpose" of the toy more fun than the other Tamagotchis I've played where the only purpose is to feed your character and clean up its poop until you can marry it off and begin the cycle again. For the P's, your adult can do things, like going to school or getting a part-time job.

If you are going to buy a Tamagotchi, this is the one to get. The American version "Tamagotchi Friends" pales in comparison to this one, and it costs about the same amount of money at the time this review was written. I would advise that even though this one might cost $5-10 more than the American version it is well worth it. The "Friends" version isn't even in color, and has a screen you can barely see plus there is barely anything to do on the Tamagotchi friends. This Tamagotchi is in color and the screen looks as good as your smartphone screen, you can see everything, and its bright and clear. This tamagotchi also has a lot of things to do on it, you can send your Tama to school, and it can get a job, you cannot do that in the Friends version. I would HIGHLY recommend this Tamagotchi over the American Friends version, had I known this item was so reasonably priced I would not have wasted money on the inferior Friends.Now this Tamagotchi is Japanese language, however you can download english patches to it (you have to find these english patches on the net) if you have a device that supports infared or IRDA, this would be an older cell phone with infared capabilities or a device like a Palm Pilot or an HP iPAQ. I used an HP iPAQ and it worked great. Even if you don't have an infared device its easy to get one for a very cheap price, like under $10.. The process is not too complicated for those with a little bit of technical know how, I was able to patch mine just fine. However even if you don't patch it, the Tamagotchi is pretty simple to Navigate and there are good translation guides all over the place which might be enough once you learn how to navigate the menus.

I know what some Tamagotchi lovers might say... "Greatest Tamagotchi ever!? How can the experience ever match the original Tamagotchis and how great things were back then!?" I agree... the wonder of that retro Tamagotchi experience we had in childhood will never be matched. However, the new color and feature-rich Tamagotchi of today is in a class all its own. There are so many new things to do, and it's in color which makes it even more adorable. The cuteness is off the charts. Admittedly, I don't even speak/read Japanese, so I have no clue what is being said... and I did have to Google some phrases like "How to remove battery cover Tamagotchi P's", but there is enough information out there to definitely make this product usable for non-Japanese speakers/readers. My main concern was the mute feature. It took me a while to find it... the very first menu icon, on the fifth screen, second option down!I am overjoyed that Bandai didn't leave Tamagotchi in the dust. I'm so glad they decided to make the product better than it's ever been. I for one will always enjoy the virtual pet as its own stand-alone gadget. THANK YOU, BANDAI!!!

Works great and fun. Lots of stuff to do. There's also school and work for your tama instead of a pause feature. It is in Japanese, but there are english translations for the menus online, just google it. The characters are really cute and you can even get a pet for your tama.One thing I notice sometimes is that it lags, if I'm pressing buttons too fast it doesn't accept all the inputs but it isn't really a problem, you just have to take your time.

It was exactly what i was hoping for. I did my research and it is a great product. Only had it for a few days but I've already spent a lot of time tinkering with it. IT IS IN JAPANESE for those who are wondering. Do not buy if you don't know what you are getting. I have english patched mine so now most of it is in english, it takes time effort and research in order to get english to work.

Bandai America, I am so disappointed in you.The Tamagotchi P's is 10x better than anything you can find at the local Toys'r'Us. Color screen, tons of features, a sound chip that doesn't hurt your ears, and a beautiful design!

Tamagotchi works perfectly, It is in Japanese, so I suggest being prepared for patching tamagotchi to English (Yes, this version can be patched fully to english! It's really easy and takes about 10minutes, check yt!). Buttons are soooo easy to press, I have also V6, and buttons are really different, in P's they are like "clicking" what I enjoy so much! In box, there were batteries too so no need to buy new ones. Holding tamagotchi is now like holding an egg, what means that there was big change in making colour tamagotchi. My recommedations.

Perfection!! This was an excellent buy , delivery was fast with expedited shipping (strongly recommend) and it came brand new in its original packaging everything's PERFECT !!

It arrived earlier than the expected delivery date so I was really pleased!I remember the old tamagotchi versions that were black and white. This is the newer colour screen version! It is a delight for anyone looking for a nostalgia fix or as a gift for their child. The actual body-shell of the tamagotchi P is really pretty with gems, although it is perhaps more girly than previous generations which were more gender neutral in design.There are many new features and mini-games such as,-the ability to adopt pets for your tama.-your tama can get a part time job and go to school.-your tama will also develop a personality depending on how you raise it.I have several of the new colour screen versions but personally the Tamagotchi P is my favourite as there is the option to add extra content by purchasing a Deco-pierce. The only negative to this product is that it is in Japanese. However there is a an english patch available that can be downloaded. Although I myself have not translated it into English and can play it 100% no bother even though I am not fluent. The options are very simple to understand due to the cute little icons representing, food, bathroom etc.

昔の初代たまごっちに比べると大きくて操作も難しくなっていました。とは言え現代っこは何の問題もなく遊んでいます。欲しがっていたので喜びはしましたが世話好きな子じゃないとすぐに家出されちゃいますね(笑)子供の性格考えてあげたほうが良かったなと。飽きてほったらかしにされないようピアス変えて長く遊んでもらえるようにしてみます。
