I can’t believe it worked!
I live on a small lake and there’s always ducks in my yard but one pair of Mallards insisted on swimming in the pool. I’d let them swim if they didn’t poop so much. We’ve been chasing them, multiple time a day, for at least a month. The alligator head seemed expensive since I didn’t have confidence that it would work.Out of aggregation and frustration I gave it a try.We put the alligator head in the pool a week ago and the Mallards haven’t been near the pool ever since. They still hang around my yard but they don’t go near the pool. It’s worth every penny!

It worked, but swam away, or was kidnapped by the geese...
Dear Ted, at your request I write this review. I received this item on time and just last week I placed it near the river bank in the shallow water (which is almost stagnant) in front of my house, secured by two feet of heavy fishing line to a weight placed in the muddy river bottom. It worked beautifully, and for the first time in weeks there were no geese in front of my yard or on the grass.A few days ago however, to my horror, the alligator head had floated away. I retrieved the weight and the line and the eye hook was still attached but the head was nowhere to be found.. Apparently the eye hook had worked its way free from the head. The river is slow flowing, it hardly moves, so I believe that the eye hook was defectively embedded. My request for a replacement, because of a poorly secured eyehook, was refused outright by the seller, and with the suggestion that I test the river flow velocity by adding milk to the water and watching it dissipate. It was also suggested that a raccoon, or child may have made off with it...It was a disappointing response from a company that I and my friends would have enjoyed working with in the future.I hope they will reconsider their response. and if they make it right for me I will trumpet their good judgment in an addendum to this review.

Life-like and effective
We live on the bay in southern New Jersey on a barrier island. We have a outdoor spa and pool that the terns and gulls have been making a mess of. We've tried other predator decoys (like owls and hawks) and noise makers that imitate predators. The results from these items have been less than optimal. Our pool guy saw our problem and recommended the alligator head decoy that some his other Shore customers have been using. He didn't know the make or manufacturer, but he said "look for the one with the bright red eyes." We found TJB Inc and ordered a 28" head for the pool and the 22" head for the spa. Since we have put them in the bird population has DECREASED BY 85% OR MORE. The only feature I need to improve on is the mobility of the head. The wind off the bay tends to push the head into a corner. I'm thinking of taking a length of fishing line with a mid-weight sinker to keep the head toward the middle of the pool but still allow it to move around. I think the realistic look of the head and its life-like floating motions are the features that have been chasing the sea birds. This is a great product. I will recommend it to all my friends at the Shore who have pools and spas.

For $54 this should come with the lead weight and the line to attach it to it. I realize a weight in not that expensive but, I think it should be ready to be launched out of the box. Now I have to go to the tackle shop, buy some line, buy a weight. Have to deduct for that. When I called, the answer was sorry, that's how we send it, you can send it back if you want. S, just be aware, you need to get a decent weight and line to attach it or it can be flipped over by the wind. I originally gave this three stars. I have since changed it to 4. I am still peeved I have to get my own weight to get this working but, I will say there hasn't been goose one in the 24 hours since I placed this into the pond. They come in to land and continue over.

Raccoons No More
I have this Raccoon that thinks my pool is his toilet, so other than using a real alligator and having a alligator problem in my pool I found this Alligator Head. I chose this head over the full body gators that are available, because this head is 28 inches, unlike the others that combine the entire body with the length. Rocky Raccoon would laugh at the others. It is obvious that this head was taken from a mold of a real gator, it is very realistic. I live in South Florida, and have seen many up close. I attached it to my auto pool vacuum hose and it moves around with the vacuum. At night, usually it hangs out by my steps, that is where Raccoons like to clean their hands while they poop, yes it makes no sense, but that is what they do. So far Mr. Alligator, has scared Rocky Raccoon away, maybe to a neighbors pool,, Ha! Ha! ...I would definitely recommend this product as a deterrent. Mr. Alligator Head is also fun for freaking out guests.....It would be cool with a photosensitive light under the eyes to make them glow at night...maybe made to resemble when the moon or a flashlight reflects off a gator at night,,..

Alligator in the water, call 911!!!
I purchased this 28" Alligator Head Decoy from TJB-INC. When I received it, I was so surprised and happy to see how detailed and realistic it is in looks, color, and details. The only thing that I did not like is the red eye which did not look very realistic. But the good thing is that it is just a red eye sticker and I was able to peel it off and then I colored the eyes of the alligator decoy with a darker look because realistically you are not really going to see the eye much when you're looking at a real alligator. I put a small remote control boat underneath it and boy this thing moves just like the real thing. It scared some people. I was careful with it in the park water pond/lake because I was afraid that I would get arrested. People actually dialed 911 and reported an alligator in the water.I wish that the manufacturer would make the partial back and tail to float with it too. That would be awesome.
