Fails Badly On Soutern Part of Croatian Dalmatian Coast on The New Zagreb to Dubrovnik Superhighways.
New Superhighways in Croatia shown about 85% OK, but suddenly gets incomplete in the Southern part of Croatia coast approaching Peljesac Peninsula and on the Zagreb to Dubrovnik Highway. It gets Confused.. It did not show new EU Superhighway in Southern Croatia. around Peljesac & to Dubrovnik or to the critical, major Ploca Ferry (to get on Peljesac) to then go to Dubrovnik . Needs update in those heavily travelled car tourists areas. Each year and today (June 2017) Garmin showed us as being off the road and on farmer pasture fields and gave repeated warnings for miles and miles, to get back on the road. This all the while we were on a New, 5+ year old, super high speed 4 lane Toll super highway. A, EU Superhighway . This glaring mistake has been going on for a years now even though I update the chip each year including (supposedly) 2017!I guess I will have to by the 2018 version, pray and hope maybe it will work next year. And that perhaps Garmin will wake up.

Important information on using this product
I consider the maps quite good - and would rate this product much higher if that were the only criteria. A critical failing is that my Nuvi often does NOT recognize names I type in that are on the map, the first time I have ever encountered this problem (I have used many other foreign maps). I suspect language translation somehow made what I type in and what is stored in the map database different, even though they look the same. (And I learned from other East European travelers that this is a common problem.) The way around this is to determine the GPS coordinate of wherever you want to go, and enter that as the destination. That works like a charm, but you better figure out the GPS coordinate before you get in the car - and, in any case, its a techy chore many people are not up to. My final comment is that the routing algorithms are not as good as those of Google Maps, but are as good (or better) than any of Garmin's competitors. (The Nuvi seems to want to take the shortest route even when the speed limits are so much lower that you take much more time.) Sometimes this was fun, as we went through some country lanes in the middle of nowhere. We mostly got to our destination (we had to "detour" once because a road didn't go through). Not so much fun if you are in a hurry.

The Croatia GPS worked perfectly!!
I bought this product for our trip to Croatia in Oct 2014 and it worked great. We rented a car in Zagreb and it took us to the apartment we rented there and into the North of Zagreb to see the Trakoscan castle. We then set the avoidance setting to avoid toll ways and highways and drove from Zagreb to our rented apartment in Split. Three days later we drove the coast highway from Split to Dubrovnik with a stop in Bosnia. While in Dubrovnik we drove south, down into Montenegro, as far as Kotor for lunch. Of course we did not have GPS maps for Montenegro but there really was only one main costal road. In the end we drove to the Dubrovnik airport for our flight home. The GPS worked perfectly the entire trip and there were no surprises. Croatia is a beautiful country with very friendly people. This was a perfect vacation.

No instructions, or guidance at all. You are on your own.
It worked as soon as I plugged in the micro flash disk, however I had no idea what was going on. It took a long time to figure out that it really worked. No instructions or guidance at all. Online help does not exist either. The Hungarian character "Ő" does not exist in the maps, so any address having this character will not be found. It took me a long time to figure out if I replace this character with simply a "space", the search function will work fine. Try this if you have the same problem. Anyway it was a frustrating process.

Maps Won't load
I bought this City Navigator map to use in Slovenia. Unfortunately I had to travel there to try it. The maps wouldn't load off the card this seems to be a problem others have had with Garmin map updates. By the time the trip was over the 30 return limit expired. So I lost out on this one. I don't think I'd use another Garmin update as we used Google maps and they worked fine there. The only file I could access on the micro SD said the "media was corrupt". I feel I should have got a refund.

Worth the money and well-enough up to date.
I only used it in Hungary in the summer of '14 (so far) and it worked extremely well. Some of the names of the streets are seriously out-of-date (it read out a couple streets that had been changed in 1990 for political reasons and that was something of a surprise). The maps didn't differentiate between tertiary roads and cattle tracks, which led to some funny initial choices driving through the countryside. Also a US-sourced Garmin + this thing doesn't speak Hungarian properly, which led to my young kids falling over themselves in laughter for the entire three-week trip as every Hungarian word or place-name was phonetically pronounced in American English.

You need these maps if you are going to drive in Poland
The coverage or data content of this Eastern Europe map set is amazing. In Poland, I found that even the smallest country road was shown. One major difficulty is that English translation of Polish names is difficult. Sometimes if I typed a street name, the software could not find it, but the street really did exist. I don't know how Garmin could correct the search function because of the difficulty with alphabets and name conversion. Regardless, if you are planning to drive in Poland, Chezk Republic, etc., you need these maps.

Product works fine; the company that makes it doesn't
Good, as are all their map programs. It would be 5 stars if it wasn't for Garmin's horrible customer relations and support. I have an etrex Legend HCX. I contacted Garmin directly to buy this, but they told me it wouldn't work on my device; I would have to buy a newer GPS. I have several other of their European map programs in the same series that work just fine. I told them this, and told them the product numbers. They told me those also don't work on my device. I asked if I could give it a try and return it if it didn't work. They told me I could only return it if I hadn't opened the package and tried it. So, I went to Amazon, and read a review by someone who had purchased it through Amazon. It hadn't worked and she returned it to the vendor with no issues. Any wonder Amazon rules the online marketplace?

Hungary holiday
I'll start by saying I'm a Tom-Tom fan, that said, I did use my wifes Garmin on our last holiday to Hungary because the Tom-Tom makes me download my western europe map and then upload my eastern europe map as it doesn't have a card slot or enought internal memory space for both.I swapped over sat-navs in Austria and the card fired up straight away. It knew where to go (something I was checking as I know the route well) until we hit Budapest proper. It tried to take me on what I can only presume it thought was the traffic free route. I ignored it and eventually it agreed that the route I was taking would get me to my cousins place.I had an ex-pat (my father) with me on nearly every journey and he was being navigator so I only looked at the Garmin to confirm his directions. There has been a lot of recent (well signed) major roads built around Hungary which did throw this out of date version off but I would have been happy to use it for in town as I find motorway signage adequate but central Budapest like central London a bit of a nightmare for a foreign visitor.

This worked like a charm and was mainly used in Hungary
This worked like a charm and was mainly used in Hungary, but did take us to Poland for a short trip. Only hiccup was there was a new highway loaded that wasn't opened yet, but that also showed on our road map, so can't fault the chip.. No problem, as we did have an alternate route and it "recalculated" and we good. Couldn't have done this trip without it. Thanks.

Sommer 2011 in Kroatien
