It would be a long tedious task to shred a stack of paper
Works just as expected. Yes, it does retain small scraps of paper but that should be expected considering the blade spacing. Just the nature of the beast. I had no problems cutting my paper the full length of the blade -- others seemed to have problems with that. Blades were sharp and whipped right through the paper. Obviously chipboard or heavier card stock will take extra effort but it's certainly not undoable. If you are looking to shred lots of junk mail and such then you might want to consider another mode. It would be a long tedious task to shred a stack of paper, but for crafting and/or shredding single sheets, it works as advertised. Nice addition to my crafting supplies! Good quality construction with comfortable grip.

I got these after reading NUMEROUS reviews, and I'm glad I didn't let the negative ones scare me away. It's just what I needed!
I got these after reading NUMEROUS reviews, and I'm glad I didn't let the negative ones scare me away. It's just what I needed to conquer paper clutter on my desk. Specifically -- junk mail.I have a full-sized shredder but it seems like I never take the junk mail down soon enough. So I got these scissors to cut out addresses or RSVP codes from the junk mail as it enters the house.I have found that if I cut at a 45 degree angle, then come back again, it shreds just the area I need. I'll try to post a photo explaining what I mean later. But overall, I have no complaints with these scissors. Sure, they can't handle a LOT of sheets... but for doing a segment of one or two sheets, they're perfect.

Comes in handy
Believe it or not, I purchased these scissors (2 years ago) not for crafts - but for 'shredding'. We do have a floor model shredder but these scissors are right in my drawer next to the kitchen trashcan and so they are very convenient when I have just a few little things to shred. I use them weekly and they are still sharp. They easily handle 2 to 3 thicknesses of paper. They come in handy for expired credit cards. The scissors will cut through a single credit card but it is slower than just paper. Overall, I am glad I ordered them and would recommend these scissors to a friend.

Convenient shredding scissors.
I had no idea such a product existed!!! I discovered it while watching a video and immediately ordered it. It can be used for crafts, to make fringes with paper, but I have used it to quickly shred just my name and address and account number from financial papers. I hate those noisy shredding machines, and really you don't need to cut up the entire page. You can only do about two pages at once, but that is fine with me. I have now made it a habit to do this after opening the mail, and it is kind of fun. But don't try to do a huge batch at once. That won't work.

Perfect shredding scissors
My husband and I are new homeowners, straight out of college, so we don't get very much mail, but everything we get has important information on it, so we need to either file or shred every piece of mail we receive. Since we don't shred enough to justify a shredder, and since I hate how loud and cranky cheap little shredders can be, I looked online and found these scissors, and they are ideal for shredding. I agree with other reviewers, paper does get stuck between the blades, but as it doesn't seem to really affect the cutting, that's mainly an aesthetic issue. I can shred about one envelope and contents at a time easily, so, it's a perfect solution for us. The overall feel of the scissors is solid, and they're comfortable to hold.

Nice Tool for Casual Use
Bought this as a portable and handy paper shredder for the mails or receipts having my personal details; pretty much satisfied with the quality of these scissors...Someone mentioned in the comments that the cut paper remains stuck towards the end of the blades, but I believe that should be expected as to keep these handy and lightweight they need to keep the blades designs like that...Overall a good addition to my convenient handy tools hanging in there and a fun activity for my kids to make shredded papers for their crafts...

Great for shredding
I bought these because they were less expensive than scissors made for shredding, and because Martha Stewart craft items are consistently high quality. I have found them to be great for cutting up the credit card offers and other junk mail I receive before throwing them out (never can be too careful).I deducted one star because a lot of times paper does get stuck between the blades, and it really can only handle a max of two sheets at a time, but if you're buying these for light shredding they're great.

Great Crafting Tool
These scissors are stellar. I used them only for adding fringe to folded paper and card stock. They worked well on all the paper I tried, no matter the thickness. I will say that they get a little uncomfortable if you're going to be doing a lot of cutting, but I think this is because of the weight of the metal part and the thickness of the handle. It could be worse though. I ended up wrapping some gauze around the thumb hole and that made them a lot more comfortable.
