Q: does this work with PC? i recently bought audiophile headphones and want a clip mic for gaming that i can use with my headphones

Q: Does this only work if the gopro is out of it's case? I've got a Hero 3+ Silver, and the when the gopro is in the case the mic port is covered up.

Heya Brandon, This depends on how attached to your case you are. I drilled a hole in mine about a half inch in diameter right where the USB port is. (mark it with a sharpie first, and use a dremel tool. makes it a ton easier) I had 2 cases so having one modified and no longer waterproof was not an issue cuz I had a spare. The other option would be like Ryan says and use a skeleton case. I am from a dusty environment so I keep the camera in the standard, albeit modified, case and use a swimming earplug (you can get these at walmart) molded around the adapter and the case. It looks janky but it works well and keeps rain, snow, dust, etc. out of the camera. I posted a review with a couple pictures though I realize now the actual connection was not visible. So in closing, Yes, the camera must be free from the case to use this mic unless you don't mind putting a hole in the plastic, or buy a skeleton case or a frame.

Q: Can I use the mic with a macbook air?

I really dont know , but i think you can use it, i have used with a canon dslr and with my iPhone and it works good
