Check All the Details Before Ordering
I ordered this to replace the Dirt Devil Breeze model, which had served me well for 4 years. So, it came, and it looked the same, and I assembled it after fighting the Styrofoam packaging that wouldn't let go of the turbo attachment. When I plugged it in to test it, I noticed that there was no height adjuster. I looked at the instructions again and then saw the asterisk which stated the height adjuster was only available on some models. I thought height adjusters were standard. I never thought to look at the details as to whether the vacuum cleaner had one. So, beware. Also beware of the fact that when you start this up, you should have a firm grip on the handle. It almost self propels.

Love the bag
Love the bag, way better than dust cups you have to empty (bleah!) It sucks stuff up pretty well, too. The housing is light weight ...good...but feels like it will fall apart all the time. The clincher for the one star rating is the miserable &@!$€#% scrawny useless belt that takes 5 screws to change and breaks instantly if you come anywhere near piece of fringe ( I have Persian carpets on top of wall to wall carpet) . I’ve barely been able to use it before the 3 belts I bought broke.... I decided to leave a review while researching replacement belts because there isn’t one replacement belt that has decent reviews...which makes my vac pretty much a trash bin item. I’ve had Hoover’s, and the carpets for years and never had a problem with belts till the Dirt Devil fiasco....be forewarned! Back to Hoover I go!

This Baby Sucks Up the Dirt Better than Grandma's Old Hoover
My old DD Breeze was still working after eight years, but the tabs on a pipe connection broke, so I could no longer use it for detail cleaning. I got my fifty bucks worth. I just put my new Breeze on its maiden voyage, and WOW! It glides across the rug; it almost seems self propelled, even though it's not. I put it to the ulimate test: the purple throw rug in my bedroom that is perpetually covered in cat hair, even after I vaccume. When I vaccumed the rug with this new baby, every single bit of cat hair got sucked up. And it left vaccume tracks in the rug, just like Grandma's old Hoover used to do. Some product improvements have been made. This one gets right next to the wall to clean; the old one had just a little more space at the bottom, so it didn't get as close. Pulling off the cover on the old one was a challenge; this one is much easier. This one also comes with a little mini rolling brush attachment, so you can get way under chairs without having to move them. The older model did have a longer, double tube for attachments. This only has a single tube, so you have to fiddle with the hose in back, but that's a small price to pay for all this horsepower. I love the Dirt Devils-they are affordable, durable little work horses.

Not what it used to be...
I've had this for a few months now after my old Dirt Devil upright fell apart. I liked it a lot better for several reasons. First, the Breeze doesn't do well on hard flooring. Time after time I find myself gliding over dirt, hair, or crumbs and it either doesn't suck up or it blows it across the floor. The beater brush attachment is a bit of a joke since there's not enough power to keep the brushes rotating when you use it. Every time you rub it across furniture they stop. Also, when vacuuming under furniture, the hose often comes out of the top. To me, it doesn't seem to be able to get under things like the old upright I had - not sure if that's because of the hose or what - but it doesn't seem to flatten as far down. The bags are small, too, so you need to change them often. And finally, the headlamp on mine died a couple of weeks ago - I had gotten the vacuum at Christmas.Overall, if you don't need a lot of power or are on a budget, you may like it. It's not horrible, but it has some flaws.

Where has this been all my life!?
Our Shark Rocket bit the dust on us, and after year of having a bangles vacuum, we made the switch. I LOVE this vacuum!Pros:-Easy to assemble and use-Extra attachments are hooked onto vacuum-Real leightweight-Quiet (for a vacuum)-Cleans SO much better than our Shark ever did!-Don’t have to dump 1,000 times while vacuuming.-Full bag light to alert when to change-Light while vacuuming which is nice for our darker roomsCons:-The air powered brissle attachment gets clogged easily and doesn’t work the best, but is easily to clean out-Doesn’t go under low furniture-The air that blows out the side blew away some of the debris I needed to vacuum up-Cord is at the very bottom of the vacuum so unless you hold it, it will continue to get ran over-Hose attachment sometimes come off the bottom while vacuuming.

Get what you pay for.
Pros on the are it is incredibly light and uses a bag. Both were necessary for me. The cons are more numerous ...no height adjustment, electrical cord is very short, the hose is very short and the tools are not well made. I have 2 large Rottweilers and vac about 5 days per week. I am done paying $250-$350 for a vac that breaks within a year. The collection of dead Hoovers and Sharks in my garage is substantial. Because of the way things are made now the places they break can't be fixed. Forget warranty nonsense, they don't cover things like the handle breaking off or the latch holding the debris tank breaks and can't be repaired. So this vac can be replaced several times over when it breaks and I'm still money ahead. This arrived on time, was very well boxed and very easy to put together. So if you are looking for an inexpensive machine that is lightweight and easy to dispose of when it breaks this will fulfill those needs. They are the reason I bought it. My last Hoover lasted 10 months and the handle snapped in two nearly slicing my wrist open. Cost? $350. My days of thinking if I pay more the quality is better, it is not.
