Good for energetic cats
So personally this ball was not worth it for me to buy. My cat has shown no interest whatsoever - however he is a rescue and is very very picky with his toys. So if your cat is picky then maybe this isn't for you. But if your cat is playful and likes to chase things you should definitely get it. It's sturdy, runs smoothly and is not too loud, if it gets into a corner it basically bumps itself out. So, for other kinds of cats it could be perfect.

Our cats didn’t like it at all
Does work as described but quite pricey for what it is and our cats really didn’t like it. We’ve tried to get them used to it but they find it scary rather than wanting to chase it or play with it.

Very slow, noisy and boring
I’ve only used this on two occasions and on both occasions I was disappointed. I have an indoor cat and i wantEd him to be able to have play time when I’m not at home so when I saw this product saying it moves on it’s own and can change direction I thought the cat will love this. Now the product arrived on time and I opened it and was like okay it’s a bit big for a kitten or cat, they tend to play with small toys but we will give it a go. I turn it on put it on the floor annnnnd... it’s hardly moving. I look at the instructions for it and it says it will move slow when it’s low on battery so I change it for two hours as specified annnnnnnnd... still moving as slowly as it was when I first turned it on. My cat wasn’t impressed with it, didn’t want to play with it and I don’t blame him. Nothing fun about it. Also doesn’t help that the thing makes a noise every time the motor in the ball is going to try and get it moving. I will keep trying it with the cat, but it’s very likely it will be getting returned.

Does what it says
The product arrived quickly and was able to be used immediately. The device is charged via usb and is activated by an off/on button. The device is able to roll itself around the room with an attractive red light which rotates with the ball. The cat finds it fascinating and follows it around. As Charlie is a house cat I think the movement is good for him. He doesn't seem to interact with the product, other than following it and watching it. For this reason it may not be of lasting interest. Hence 1 star deducted. It may be more suitable for kittens.

Cats Very Dubious
This was a gift for my daughter’s cats. I thought it would be more interesting than a normal ball, however the cats are freaked out when it’s turned on and avoid it. When switched off it’s just an expensive ball. I would have done better to buy some basic ping pong balls. I gave it 5 stars for durability because at the cats current level of interest it will last for ever. Maybe less cautious and more interactive cats would enjoy it more.

Not as good as I hoped
This toy is Ok, but could have been so much better. Firstly it doesn’t roll very far on carpet because there is too much resistance. The internal weight also only rotated for a very short time which doesn’t give the ball a chance to pick speed.I also find the motion very unimaginative. A few rotations one way, a few rotations the other with a short gap in the middle. A more irregular pattern would have been far better.I actually found that if I unscrewed the cover so that it was only half a ball the motion was more erratic and interesting to the cat.

It's really hard plastic
This thing works exactly like you would imagine, it flips about and rolls in a direction, the only problem is the ball is made of really hard plastic and if the ball decides to randomly roll the same direction twice in a row it builds up considerable speed. After 1 or 2 really loud cracks off the walls or really painful looking hits into the side of my fairly large cat she had zero interest in going near this toy ever again.I would strongly advise not getting this for kittens as I would think you could do some serious damage to a small kitten with it. The ball is about the weight of a snooker ball, made of solid plastic shell and can cover the width of a room in 2 spins forwards... think about that hitting into your cats nose and then close this tab on amazon.

An OKAY cat toy!
My cat initially was a tiny bit afraid of the moving ball (she is a scaredy cat) but after sniffing out she is fine with it and just loves watching it roll around. It doesn’t really get thats stuck in places and has a good battery life (plus its rechargeable). I put it on when my cat is bored however she rarely pounces on it :/ (my cat doesn’t do play that well) but its robust (it has rolled down the stairs before). Overall and OK cat toy.
