Sturdy, well made, super easy assembly
Just got this delivered this morning and I am very happy with the purchase. The assembly was much easier than I anticipated. The swing comes about 90% already assembled. The back is assembled with all slats attached, same with the seat. The only assembly required is attaching the back to the seat and then attaching each armrest. All fasteners are the same, so you need one 7/16 socket or wrench and that's it. All hardware and the included chain are brass. I only had to go to my local hardware store and buy heavy duty hooks to attach it to the rafters of my porch. All of the surfaces are sanded smooth and there are no rough or sharp edges. It is made of pressure treated pine, so I am going to wait until the spring to maybe clear coat it with some sealant, but that's probably not even necessary. The cupholders are a little larger than the bottom of a pint glass. They are fine for a glass or mug but maybe too large for a beer bottle. I found that swinging with a full pint of beer sitting in the cupholder works just fine. I may drill out a couple of extra drain holes as others have mentioned in other reviews. Overall I definitely recommend it! Looks great and is very comfortable!!

My new favorite place to sit!
We needed a swing for our back porch, and I had my eye on this for a while. Finally, I made the plunge and I am so glad I did! It arrived earlier than the given date, and it was in excellent condition. I ordered the unfinished swing, and it came with six pieces: The seat, the back, the armrests, and the cupholders. They were easy to work with.I am by no means an artsy-craftsy person, and I was stressing about finishing the swing. I had no confidence in my ability to apply paint/stain! I did some research before diving in, and the following is what I did. I am just putting this on my review in case anyone has the same hang-ups about doing home projects like this as I do.Since it's pine and it is prone to really suck up stain, I first lightly sanded it with 220 grit sandpaper, although I am not sure I needed to. It was smooth, but I heard you were supposed to sand before staining, so I did. I then applied a wood conditioner (which is kind of like an oil), and after 15 minutes, I wiped off the excess. Then I applied oil-based stain meant for outdoor use. I just did one coat, wiping off the excess as I went. The stain drips through the slats no matter how careful you are, so I would do one side, wipe it, flip it, apply stain, and wipe again. (Also, put something under your sawhorses if you happen to be doing this on your driveway. This is to prevent your husband from giving you that guilty-child look when little stain drips appear on your driveway.) I flipped the seat and back pieces a few times (wiping as I went) to ensure I had removed all excess drips before moving on to the nest piece. After it dried for a few days, I used Thompson's Water Seal in the aerosol can to seal the wood. (You don't apply it thick, just lightly over the entire surface.)The next day, my handy husband (who did forgive my stain drips being that he did not have to stain said swing), assembled it. It took 15-20 minutes. He was very complementary at the ease with which it went together, and was happy with the craftsmanship of the swing. He said it was a "thoughtful design." We've established that he's a bit of a stickler, so this was good news! (He also said I did a great job finishing it despsite my driveway drips.) Using the anchor and spring kit, which I also purchased on Amazon, we hung the swing, and it looks great!I am so happy with the product, and I also feel proud when I see it and know that I did tackle a home project successfully! I'm not being asked to do a show on HGTV or anything, but it's a satisfying feeling.

Great porch swing!
If you are wondering if this swing will last the answer is yes!I purchased this swing in 2017. I did a light sanding and painted it with regular bare wood primer and a quality exterior latex paint. It has sat outside for 6 years in the Wisconsin weather. Now in 2023, 6 years later the wood and chains are perfect but the paint was starting to look a little faded. I scrubbed it down and 2 coats of paint later it looks like the day I first installed it.The swing was very easy to assemble and install. I have to admit I was a little skeptical at first so I tested the strength of the swing with 2 large men using it at the same time and the swing barely flexes with nearly 500 pounds of weight. There are a couple of things I did to upgrade the swing shortly after I bought it. I added the best quality springs I could find and also added commercial grade swing mounts. Back in 2017 they were not included. If you are looking for a quality porch swing and don’t mind doing just a little painting or staining I would highly recommend this swing.

Great quality, heavy duty swing
My wife and cat love the swing but only my cat wanted his picture taken. Once you get this kit and put it together you will need to sand it and stain it yourself. You will also need to get a porch swing hanging kit as one does not come with the kit. This is just 2 brackets and 2 springs. I knew that I would need those when purchasing the swing and it was cheaper than some of the other swings so I was OK with that. If you get the option with the cup holders I don’t feel they are deep enough so I will probably modify the existing ones to accommodate. The swing is made really great and the hardware is very eye appealing. We recommend this swing, 5 Stars.I modified the cup holder, drilled a hole from the bottoms side with a 3 in hole saw, I designed and printed a 3D part to extend the cup holder. I will get some pan head screws to replace existing ones next time I am at the store. Pictures attached. Now the cup holder is deep enough to hold bottles without them falling out.
