Does not work as a room freshener
I bought this item on the strength of the reviews, only to find that purchasers are offered what amounts to a monetary incentive to leave positive reviews about the product. When I recieved the item I was offered a credit for a replacement filter worth £13 if I left a positive review.AMAZON - WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT THIS?I am unable to leave a positive review about its air freshening qualities, as it would be grossly dishonest of me. Shame on those people who sucumbed to this bribe!I have had the thing constantly running for four days in a tiny cupboard to remove the smell of mustiness that it says it will resolve. It has made absolutely no diference. The only thing it has done is wasted a lot of electricity. The sponge soaked in essential oils (as directed) does not dispense any smell at all.I might as well have taken £42 (including the cost of the replacement filter I bought at the same time) and ripped it up and posted it down the drain. If it works for allergies, fine, but it is dishonest to advertise it as an air purifier that can disperse odours.

Great for a small space
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. First thing to know about this unit is that it can cover a small to medium space if it is used as an air purifier, ( as mentioned in the description ) but having said that as a personal air cleaner this is great. I keep that in my bedroom and use it also as a night light. The oil diffusing function on the other hand can cover a large area . I feel it could be helpful adding few drop of essential oils such as eucalyptus to clean nasal/air passages as we approach the cold and cough season or adding few drops of Lavender to help with relaxation and sleep. The best thing I like about it is that it is very quiet and no noise while it is on. I do not know how often the filter should be changed, but for the time being I will just wash the filter

Works very well
I bought this to have on my bedside table, I suffer with asthma and hoped this might help at night. You can definitely tell when this has been on a while as the air around it feels a lot fresher and cooler. Despite the ‘night mode’ I did still find it abit bright and slightly noisy, but I can’t sleep unless it’s dark and quiet so some people may find it ok. So I just have it on during the day to freshen up the air and it does that very well.

Multiple Uses
I originally purchased this to use as an air purifier as one of the bedrooms in my house is quite small and seems to collect a lot of dust. I used this over a period of 2 days and there was a noticeable difference in the amount of dust in the room which was great. The thing I was most impressed about is the ability to add an oil fragrance and then use it as a light feature. I didn’t realise it had this functionality but it’s brilliant and not something I’ve seen in other air purifiers. Not only can I have a nice lavender infused sleep but it’s great to know the air is also pure at the same time! Very easy to charge too in any USB port with very low power usage.

This air purifier/aromatherapy device is compact, well made and good value.
I have air purifiers in a few rooms and these stand on the floor. This Boyon one is fairly small and is more suited for placing on a table. It also has a small compartment for placing a few drops of essential oil, turning this into a purifier/aromatherapy device. By placing this in the bedroom my wife can use this at night with lavender oils to help relaxation or eucalyptus to aid her breathing. This has a 2 speed/light brightness, a blue dim night light or a little brighter. A power cable is supplied and this needs to plug into a 5V supply. The supplied filter is said to last between 3-6 months and it then needs replacing, it’s not washable or reusable.A multi-function unit that looks good and works well.

Save your money
This unit has a pretty blue light, has a gentle hum and that's about the best I can say for it. I've had it several months in the hope it would filter the dust but I've watched dust gently float by the base of the unit. The aromatherapy bit is a little well in the centre with a sponge that you add a few drops of oil into. The biggest let down is the fan. It's got very little power to suck in air (and dust). The image shows air and leaves at top of the unit being pushed out. There is a small gap at the bottom where air is drawn in. The USB cord is about a meter long. The unit has to be on a flat surface that doesn't obstruct the small gap.For me, this is an overpriced paperweight that I'd like to throw at someone, preferably the manufacturer.I made my own dust filter from a computer desk fan unit glued to a (old vacuum) filter. The fan cost £7 from Amazon and the filter I already had. I drop a few drops of aromatherapy oil onto a cotton ball and place under my pillow- job done.

Delighted, works really well
I find that now the heating has been turned on and the windows rarely opened that the atmosphere in the house gets really stuffy especially my home office area, hence the purchase of this air purifier.A small enough unit to fit neatly on my desk and very easy to operate; it is basically two pieces the inner motor and filter plus the outer shell. It comes with a USB cable that fits into my plug adapter and the top centre button operates the unit, lighting up when running; tap again for the higher setting. Inside is the HEPA filter which I assume could be replaced eventually, and a small sponge filled cup, to add moisture to the air, add water, to add fragrance, add essential oils.As soon as I switched it on, as I am only a short distance from it, I can feel the stuffy air being replaced by something a lot more pleasant. I find the fresher air prevents headaches and actually energises my body. I am using it everyday, adding a few drops of peppermint which really cleared my head; lovely and revitalising, try it. Needless to say I am delighted with my purchase; just what I needed, happy to recommend.
