Nice idea but bad product
Nice idea but bad product. The system comes with recovery image on hard drive and will not allow windows upgrade due to small SSD size. I am not a computer geek and it took me a couple of days to order and install new SSD. In retrospect not worth it, time more valuable the few dollars to get better system from other vendor. If you do buy it first thing to do is get external hard drive (not usb drive or card - system wont take it) at least 16GB ( 20 better) and make a system image, then delete system image from hard drive. Instructions on line (control panel-file-lower left corner-system image---) This will give you room to work and move the system image to a safe place should you ever need it ( ie. SDD fail). Shame for almost no add cost they could have enlarged the SDD and saved users a lot of problems, or included a dvd with the system image.

Five Stars
Works as expected and performance is good enough for simple applications such as web email and document.

Definitely not 32 GB!
It's ok for a Sub $200 mini PC. If you only want to surf the net and watch YouTube videos it is fine (even in 1080p). However, if you want to watch TV shows online or stream videos (Netflix) it is a little choppy. I got mine at Fry's and paid $159 not including the $20 rebate, so $139 total. I also purchased the Asus MX 239 monitor for $178 with Amazon price match. I love the monitor, but the VGA cable that comes with this monitor doesn't work with this mini PC because there is no VGA jack on the mini PC. Fortunately I had an extra HDMI cable. But that would cost you another $10. After installing my Kaspersky internet software, I only had 6.67 GB of memory left from the 32GB. You see the hard drive is partitioned so you only start with 16GB that you can use. It is a little misleading. Some people complain that they can't even upgrade to Windows 10. I haven't tried it yet.Update:Asus was less than helpful. They told me to get an external HD and it would work. I got a 500 GB HD and it still doesn't work! Also, thanks to mandatory Windows updates my 6.67 GB of storage is down to 1.2 GB, and I don't have any files saved on the HD.Thinking about doing a factory reset and returning it to the store. Dell i3050 has better reviews, and the partitioned HD is smaller, leaving you more space.

I was happy with the VivoMini
After I upgraded the RAM from 2 to 4 GB, the SSD from 16 to 128 GB (the most important upgrade), and Win8.1 to Win10, I was happy with the VivoMini. I liked its small size, its quiet fan, and its USB 3.0 ports. (It was a gift...)

Excellent General Use Computer With Limited Storage
This is a review of the ASUS UN42-M019Y desktop mini-computer. FYI, I bought this at Fry's.Short version:This is an excellent general use computer, if you don't need lots of storage space.Long version:I was a bit hesitant to buy this computer since it has a low-end processor, but it's fine for surfing, playing 1080 videos and streaming music. I was also surprised that 2 gb of RAM was enough, as long as you don't open to many tabs in your browser. I've had 2 browsers open with multiple tabs, and it ran fine. Besides peppy performance, the computer has a quality feel to it and is relatively stylish. It's the size of a chrome box, very small. What's in the box:Computer, AC adapter, keyboard, mouse & 3 pamphlets (User Manual, Quick Start Guide, Warranty Card). The AC adapter is about 1/3 the size of the computer and has a folding prong.Although the computer is fully upgradeable (RAM, mSATA, Wifi/Bluetooth), page 29 of the User Manual states: "No Disassembly, the warranty does not apply to the products that have been disassembled by users". I assume that you void the warranty when you upgrade. Run the computer for 48-72 hours before you upgrade, just to make sure the components don't fail. When you first turn the computer on, you only have 11.6 gb of storage to use. After installing 2 browsers, it dropped to 9.25 gb. After updating windows, the remaining available space is 6.05 gb. Besides upgrading the mSATA drive for more space, you can use a flash drive or SD memory card for additional storage space. Using an inline meter, the computer uses 4-13 watts of power.I tested this computer (2gb / 32gb) vs. the HP Pavilion Mini 300-020 (8gb / 500gb - 7200 rpm) by loading CNN's homepage using the same browser. To my surprise, the computers loaded the web page roughly at the same time. I thought that the ASUS with its mSATA drive would beat a 500gb hard drive. The processor on the HP is better than the one on the ASUS, maybe that has something to do with it, not to mention the extra RAM on the HP. FYI, I'm very happy with the HP Pavilion Mini, it's also very peppy and expandable, and a steal at $250 if you can get one.Pros:Peppy performanceSmallAll the ports you need, well placed.Quiet fanRuns coolVESA mount capableGood User Manual & documentationRuns 2 monitorsCons:VESA mount not includedSound is a bit flat from earphone jackKensington lock slot could have been placed betterNot much storage space on driveA bit heavyMight find a better value for $200

Great little toy to play with!
I got this on a Black Friday sale and have really liked playing with it. I added a 8 gig memory chip, it now have 10 Gig of memory. I also put a 128 Gig ssd in it. It runs windows 10 just fine. If you create a restore disk on USB with the old ssd, it make rolling win-10 easy to port over to the new drive. Not the fastest processor, but it can handle Doom 3 without hacking up hairballs. Great little box to play with or use as a lightweight computer.
