The DonJoy Performance WEBTECH Short Knee Brace features an innovative three part system that is ideal for relieving common forms of knee pain often associated with sports injuries, overuse injuries and degenerative conditions. Specifically, the Short Knee features a unique web structure that evenly distributes pressure over the quadriceps and patellar tendons, and helps to stabilize the patella and ensure proper tracking. Compression molded back pad adjusts easily to optimize fit and comfort, and a four way stretch lycra/mesh undersleeve eliminates hot spots and provides an added layer of protection. Compared to the WEBTECH Knee Brace, the Short Knee is approximately 50% shorter which makes it ideal for relieving pain often associated with tendonitis, commonly referred to as runner's and jumper's knee.

Not a good fit for short & thick legs
DISCLAIMER: This review relates to my experience only, and may not apply to your body shape. I write that because the full-size Don Joy web brace has been the best I have ever used for several years now, so I trust the brand and recognize that it's entirely possible that someone with different legs or needs may hate that one and live this one. That being said, this one was useless to me. My legs are proportional in length to my height (5'5"), but thicker than average comprised of a good bit of muscle and a layer of insulation on top of that. I wear the size M/L in the full-size web brace, but the measurements indicated I should go L/XL for this one. That turned out to be irrelevant, because the tiny strips of pseudo-velcro would not stay connected. Whether I closed it tightly enough for support, or so loosely that it practically slipped off, as soon as I moved the slightest bit the straps would pop right open.I returned the first one, assuming I just got a lemon, but had the same results with the replacement, so I accepted that this model was not going to work for me.

it works best without the knee sleeves
I have an arthritic knee cap/chondromalacia. I've purchased and tried at least 8 different braces and knee sleeves in the past. This brace is by far the most effective I have ever used. However, it works best without the knee sleeves. The brace has trouble staying in place in combination with the sleeve.

Good Product, just not for distance running.
This is a good knee brace. It felt great walking, but I am a distance runner and it felt a bit bunched up as I put in miles past 3 miles. It turns out that I had to go back to a more beefed up knee brace that I had been using of a different brand. I would recommend this brace for walkers, or someone in a different sport, perhaps.

The weak velcro doesn't hold it on!
I bought this brace for my teen daughter who does competitive cheer and injured her knee. The velcro on this brace is terrible! It has come off numerous times in the middle of her cheer routine, causing her and her teammates to stop for her to replace it. She's had other braces and they have always been held on very securely by the velcro. The brace cannot possibly offer the support her knee needs if it won't even stay on. Don't waste your money on this one-there's others that are much better. I wish I hadn't wasted my money on this one.

This is a great knee brace for PFS and stabilizing a loose kneecap
This is a great knee brace for PFS and stabilizing a loose kneecap. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the velcro straps don't always stay secured with vigorous activity. I do like the way the corners of the brace are designed so that the strap doesn't slide all the way out, but still can be a little annoying to lose some support/stability while playing sports.

Great patella tracking for leg workouts and yoga!
I was very surprised how well this worked for my patella femoral pain that's prevented me from doing squats at the gym for many, many years. It nudges the patella into the groove for proper tracking. This has been great for leg days and yoga. I'll continue to use KT tape for longer, less squatty exercises such as cycling and backpacking.

Sleeve was way too big but the rubber support was too tight. The second squat I did tore the Velcro support and I ended up tweaking my knee. Very uncomfortable for me personally. I hoped this would have been the soulution to avoiding the neoprene pull ups, but I was mistaken. (I measured as instructed before ordering).

Velcro is too weak to keep the brace in place on the knee
They used a very cheap Velcro when they made this brace. Because of that, the brace doesn't stay in place on the knee. If you bend your knee too far, the Velcro pops loose. For the price the quality should be much better!
